Built this for a buddy of mine last year... Helle Blades can be bought rather reasonable if you want to put your own handle on them...

I made the leather as well. It has a Kydex liner in it to prevent cutting out the stitching. He's a die hard hunter, and I put handles on about two blanks a year. Tat one is birds eye maple with cherry.

I was just given this today by a Marine friend who is moving back home. Second cool knife I've gotten that way. Like the USMC combat knife before it, this will see a lot of camping use.

I didn't know the design had been around that long. Haha. But then I don't know anything about knives. Of the bladed weapons/tools I own, I think I purchased only one, which is the Gerber folder that I carry. Everything else has been gifted to me. I don't know why people think I'm this knife guy, but I guess if people are offering up nice knives, I'll definitely take care of them while putting them to good use.

This Raider Bowie is really nice for something that costs..what - $60? I have a Gerber Downrange Tomahawk that I use for camping and zombies, but the weight and balance of this thing makes me feel like it will do as good a job or better at a lot of tasks.

Exactly. Amazing knife. I just feel like it needs to be owned by someone who will actually use it. It kinda gets pushed aside by my other knives.

I had one of those but had to get rid of it. Maybe it's my tiny hands but I just could never get comfortable opening it. I find the PM2 to be a good size.

It took be a while to get comfortable with it, but for whatever reason I love the size. The PM2 is one of my favorite knives. I recently had a friend get a Para3 and I think I might actually like those better than the PM2.

    From top to bottom,

    Spyderco Farid Mehr K2
    Spyderco SLYSZ Bowie
    Spyderco Paramilitary 2

The SLYSZ has seen the heaviest use, I like it, but the steel is a pain to sharpen, and the blade design I've never really gotten comfortable with. The K2 isnt a very practical knife, but it sure makes you feel like Rambo when you open it. The paramilitary 2 is my favorite though, I love that knife.

I'll be getting a military, if I get another one. :)

Well I switched out my Techno for a Damascus endura so not too bad of a trade. Nice looking knife but I never use it. I just bring it with me when I'm required to wear a suit. I've actually got a few PM2's in different flavors. Most recent one I got was the cruwear version. Have a regular Military with the M4 steel. I don't find the Military to be quite as nice to use as the PM2, but that is a common thing to read about. Maybe I'll give the Para 3 a shot.
