    I was taking some city friends out camping this weekend and all of them bailed except for one who will ride in my truck. We're leaving Issaquah at 2pm tomorrow if anyone is interested in meeting up with us. Either here or at the destination, wherever that is. The original plan was Stampede pass tomorrow night and then somewhere totally different for Saturday night. Perhaps WABDR up above Chelan, or Bethel Ridge.

    It's a wide open plan now but going out for sure. If we had another truck we could do some wheeling or fuck off where ever the grasses grow and the whiskey flows.

    @JimSnell @bobsuruncle or anyone else?

    Dude it seems like no one lives or does shit up where I am. Blows. If you post a location tomorrow afternoon, I may be down to roll after work at 4:30. It would take me 3 hours to get anywhere but I'd consider it. Need to camp.

    From what I could tell it looks like naches pass is still open. Might be worth calling the naches station tomorrow to find out.

    OBDR Day 7: Out of the Mountains.

    ... And then, we arrived at the end of the OBDR and the Oregon - Washington border.
    A non-descript section of road, where the gravel transitioned to pavement, we couldn't believe we were done.

    850 miles of Oregon backroads, less than 50 of which were on pavement, and with relatively few problems.

    I haven't read it all but I saw some pictures with tons of downed tree's. Do people not run the OBDR that much? Awesome that you cleared the path.

    I think there are several aspects to this -
    1. Not a ton of people run the entire OBDR. We didn't see anyone the entire week, and there were many places where no one had driven on the road since the last rain (~2 months before).
    2. It's one of the "tougher" ones to run logistically b/c you have to pay for maps (or find a GPX online and hope they it's right).
    3. There are probably a nearly infinite number of ways to run it (there are so many backroads through certain parts). We only stumbled upon an OBDR marker twice over the entire ~900 miles (obviously some of these are probably stolen a well)
    4. This winter was especially tough on the route - both from a trees and water crossing perspective.
    So yeah, that makes it a bit harder to run b/c you're sometimes clearing path...but that's just part of the experience! :)
