X2. When I do have to go in for a new picture, I go to AAA location that does license renewals.

 

There's still a good reason to buy a diesel and it's towing and hauling. Diesels are at home towing and hauling so if you want to haul at or near the capacity of the truck, diesel is the way to go hands down. It's the same with the 3/4 and 1 ton trucks, the upfront and operating cost of a diesel are much higher and on paper the gas model has the same capabilities, but in reality the diesel will wipe the floor with the gas engine when towing near the upper rating of the truck.

The only mitigating factor that might sway the averages would be if you towed a lot. But if you tow a lot, it seems like you really should just bite the bullet and step into a full-size for the better towing manners.

Maybe they'll bolt a pair of snails onto the 5.0...

 

Did you see the Shelby F150 I posted a while back? I'm pretty sure that was a twin turbo 5.0 and cranking out something like 700 hp.

 

So a few weeks ago I found a hen sitting on a stash of eggs in my woodshed. I didn't know how long she'd been there so I candled them and they were developing, so I just stuck her and them into the broody box and let her go at it. I got home last night and was checking the feed buckets for the birds, and thought I heard some peeping from under one of my hens. I poked her in the chest and out popped these two guys:


This morning I picked the hen up and set her outside of the broody box so I could do a head count, and apparently she's hatched 7 so far. Sorry if the focus isn't 100%, but I had a REALLY angry mother hen thrashing and pecking in my other hand when I snapped this picture.



But wait, there's more!
Went and checked on the duck food last night after I finished with the chickens, and ALSO heard peeping. I thought that they were done laying for the year, but it turns out the little a-holes had been hiding their eggs in their nest box by burying them with straw every morning. They've got 4 ducklings and 4 more eggs that they're sitting on.


Idiot birds; you're supposed to hatch eggs in the spring!

I did. Pretty sure the Shelby is Supercharged, though.

 

Hmm... you're probably right, I'll see if I can find where I was reading about a twin turbo 5.0.

AAA doesn't do renewals anymore. Something about the state and them getting in a tiff, and them not being allowed to do it anymore.

After having moved back to NH from Texas two weeks ago... it's great to be motivated to do things outside again! I don't feel like I'm going to die, just walking to the truck anymore!

 

Yeah but you aren't figuring towing, are you? I tow thousands of miles a year.

 

I can handle 10 below zero in winter a lot better than I can handle months straight of 100 degrees +.

 

Same. You can always add more clothes. Can only take so many off before you get in trouble...

But getting naked is fun... getting dressed is not.

 

Imperial Ford in Mendon has a red Shelby F150 on their show platform near the entrance. Would love to stop in and look at it, but I have a feeling test drives are a rare item with it.
