I haven't driven my truck in 10 days. I'm needing a fix, so I'm going to buy a bunch of plywood and load it up. This damn hurricane is making me nervous. I have to turn off the weather channel.

I picked up 11 sheets of 5/8" plywood, 6 - 2x8x10, and 6 - 2x8x8 pieces. Of course I took a few pictures. I still had about an inch of clearance till the bump stops.

I don't have the same problem that lsocoee does, and I don't pretend that mine's as bad...

But the wifey and I are headed down to the beach in Destin, FL this weekend for the ol' 2-year anniversary. It looks like that bastard hurricane is going to be chasing us back home on Monday.

Looking forward to plenty of seaweed and rip tides while we're there, I guess.

Tsk. I hauled 50 sheets of 8' drywall PLUS 30 sheets of 12' behind my chebby locomotive this week. I would NOT like to try that with the taco (even with the trailer brakes).

Have hauled 10' 2x over the taco tailgate a bunch of times. It bows out but hasn't bent yet.

    yet.

Why did you buy plywood? Thats expensive stuff. I always stock 1/2" OSB or particle board for the same purpose. They are pretty strong and much cheaper. If painted they'll last for a long time.

I worry about OSB not lasting. I know it is supposed to handle the weather pretty well, but I'm not a big fan of re-doing all these every other year.

I worked at 84 Lumber after I got out of active duty. The manufacturer of OSB stated the it could take two soaking rains and that was it.

so just got the word that i will more than likely have to report to work saturday. they kindly told us that we will not be payed stand-by pay, so we can leave whenever we are not on a truck.... however, if we are unable to come back due to anything such as trees in the roads, traffic only going one way, etc. we lose our job due to no-call no-show. arent private services the best :)
