Alright guys so I just bought this 2014 Tacoma. And today I just notice my drivers side shock is not centered on the shock tower, and is sticking up above the shock tower so it doesn't seem to be tight but there are no more threads to go any tighter. I'm assuming the shock just needs to be replaced but wanted to see if anyone has any Insite on what is going on here. It has a stupid rev tech strut spacer leveling kit in it not sure if that has something to do with it but here is a picture of what's going on. Shock is a bilstein 4600 series part# 24-188401.

Found a similar set-up, looks like mis-installation, broken shock rod or the wrong shock was used .

You think the shock tower is broken?

Looks like the suspension was over-compressed and due to the spacer, the shock was displaced in the seat since the suspension couldn't fully compress at the spring. I don't think the top hat is broken but you'll have to inspect further - hard to tell from the pic.

You can maybe buy some time by jacking up the truck, removing tension and carefully loosening the 3 top hat mounts and reseating the shock. Watch your fingers.

Yet another reason to avoid spacer lifts.

Thanks, but that's not what happened to me.

Mine was misalignment on the coils. We didn't really double check where the top of the coil was in the top hat and bushing. Fixed now though.
    Truck is tits!
