Well bshammer....Just got back from the dealer service. updated the CPU and replaced the CPS...whole new truck it seems. Smooth responsive shifting and no funky idle. I'll give it some more time.
another thing i did not mention was fuel mileage. The average is around 18.5 and I do more highway...I was expecting a bit better. Wonder if these issues had anything to do with that? We will see.
    Thanks for the input.
    Cheers!

Congrats! Glad things are feeling better now for you - let us know in a few days how things progress if you would. In my experience the funky idle stuff never has returned which is good. The ECU still relearns how to bog itself in a higher gear than it should over time (for me) so you MAY experience some degradation on that front but the sputtering and idle should hopefully be solved if your experience is anything like mine.

    Hello everyone,

I got the crank position sensor recall done today. My truck is noticeably smoother and much more pleasurable to drive now. Still squeaks like the dickens, though, but the dealer told me today that Toyota is working on a recall to address the issue. I guess enough of us had the issue to finally get Toyota to do something.

Makes a yuuuuge difference! Congrats on the "new" ride ;) There is already a TSB (not a safety recall) for the squeaks you should be able to search for on TW... i've somehow skirted that one thus far.

The QT by my work installed new pumps that include e15 that is 85 octane rating too. Sucks because there aren't any stations that sell e0 within the metroplex.

well...crapola. After my service, I noticed a huge difference in the two major issues I was having...now I'm back to having idle rough when sitting parked and the throttle/pedal is not very responsive at 30-40 miles an how...the acceleration is sluggish enough that there are times I second guess pulling into traffic with enough window to get up and go. at a loss here. I guess back to the dealership
