I would consider that trading down.

I skipped the second gen taco and went straight to a first gen tundy after the buyback. Love it. It's like a second gen with a V8.

I know, I was kidding. For my purposes, the taco is perfect. But if I was to get a tundra, It would definitely be a first gen.

I did consider a 06 4 door Tundra before buying my04 D-Cab Taco, but it was to big to fit in my garage, plus I did not want the higher gas bill. Never even consider second gen Taco or current Tundra.

I think they are awesome trucks, and I'd imagine if i got rid of my truck, I'd get an 06 tundra, I was looking at a nice one last night at the dealer actually. when I need a bigger truck, i'll probably get that. but for right now, my truck is perfect :)

I like them and if I end up needing a bigger truck that is the first one my list.

My 1st gen has the 3.4 and the throttle response is good, it isnt alot of power but it is nice.

But my 09 Tundra (5.7 V8) can accelerate and has so much more get up and go power. It rips compared to my 1st gen. But my 1st gen gets alot more drive, its a way better truck to drive!

I had both a 1GEN 04 Tundra DC & an 06 Access Cab before my 06 Tacoma DC.

There are days I miss the full metal bed with 4 tie downs & the smoothness of 4.7 engine, little creature comforts like the power rear slider, $100 cold weather package that included heated mirrors (nice to have here in the northeast). Both those trucks, including the crewcab got the same mileage now in my tacoma and no never ending TSBs. After typing this, I kinda wonder why now I sold that 06 AC Tundy

Hey Guys...Im a newbie on here. I was browsin through the threads and this one caught my eye. I currently have an 02 Tacoma 4x4 TRD and an 08 4x4 DC Tundra. I have to honestly say that I love both. They both fit the needs/reason that I have them. The way I acquired the Tundra was from the 95.5-2000 Tacoma buy back. I previously had a 2000 4x4 Tacoma. That truck was absolutely the best Toyota I have owned. It was a sad day at the dealership when I had to let her go, but at the same time exciting to get the Tundra! I am a huge fan of Toyota trucks..hands down the best trucks made.

Just had an offer to trade my stock 02 dbl cab tacoma with 98,000 miles and $5K for a 02 dbl cab tundra with 58,000 miles with 6" lift (not sure of brand) I turned it down. Not sure if it was the right decision on my part or not. Just didnt feel like paying for the gas...

i dont think i would. but i dont have a use for a truck biggier than a tacoma. i would get a 2nd generation tacoma before i would get a tundra. but i guess there would be quite a price difference

they really aren't worth the bad gas mileage unless you do alot of towing and need a truck that big with that much power....otherwise you are just wasting gas and money
