Ok guys I'm looking to buy an awning. I have looked at 3 different companies. The companies are ARB,CVT and Tepui. If you could give me your input on which awning you would choose or have already chosen, and why it would be much appreciated, thank you!

I had an ARB awning on my 4Runner. It was easy to use, worked great. I plan to get one for my Taco.

I just installed an arb 2000 awning onto my prinsu rack. I haven't used it yet, but did deploy it once to check it out and I like it so far. Buy it off of autoanything.com and use their 20% off coupon. Free shipping.

Thinking about buying an awning since my EZ up fell apart in strong wind. How do these hold up in windy days?

Initial setup is without the poles and it seems pretty steady. That said, the amount of luck I have couldn't be used to fill a thimble so I install the poles. I didn't get the sandbag kit they offer but I could see where it would come in handy. We were at Overland Expo and someone there had a batwing that was self supporting but I can't remember the brand and didn't get a picture.

I assume your sway bars are off? Also, if one was to get a Yakima rack with the two horizontal bars across the top of the canopy, is there a way to mount the awning still?
