Here for the update.

 

How's life? I know trapping season is coming soon for a few species around here, is it for you too? I have to get myself a few traps for beavers to help a buddy on his land who is having troubles with them beavers. Might look at fabbing a few boxes this winter and try to catch martens. But that's only if I have time lol

 

Because I talked about it yesterday I had to do it today. Swapped my oem shift knob for the Browning Pistol grip. I had it before but the summer heat softened the plastic sleeve and it stripped on the steel tread of the shift stick so i put the oem one in the meantime. Today I used silicone hot glue and I glued it back in place. That glue is strong enough to hold the summer heat but soft enough so I can break it with hands to take off the stick in case I need to remove the center console

 

How did you get your boot like that?! That's what I was going for, but it didn't work out too well.

 

I gotta admit that pistol grip has some old school/muscle car look to it. Would like to tear through some gears with that!

 

haha I popped the ring and tried to roll the end of the leather inside, which worked a bit and then I slid it lower lol

I really like it! And with the @Gadget@URD short throw shifter it makes the driving experience really better!

 

Life is good! Just butchered about 30 chickens last night, so we are fat and happy !

Trapping for us doesn't start until November.

Are you new to the beaver thing? Wish we had martens this far south!

 

This is pretty cool. I've been looking off and on for my truck for a while and can't seem to find one I want.

 

I am pretty new to everything trapping related haha! I still have to buy a few traps. I red a lot on technique to catch beavers before snow and ice so I might set a trap or two on the land I hunt and try to get rid of the beavers for the owner of the land. If I do catch them, I'll have a bunch of questions for you!

I bought this one from a friend but they seems to be available online too. I used it in my old 90' toyota pickup and then I use it in the taco. I think price is around 20$, which is decent. The knob sits higher, and the short throw kit lift the shift stick 1", so now the position of my hand on the knob is pretty comfortable.

I wish I would a bought the Hurst short throw with the shift stick tho, the Hurst one looks like it is really made for the comfort of the driver! And a round ball seems to be really comfortable.

 

I'll probably get handle that I like or just a different oem handle off a different car.

Today I went ahead and remove my Apex led for light bracket to give them a little paint coat. The powder coat on it seems to be pretty thin, and rust was noticeable under the coating. I set them up in my home made spray booth and gave them a great coating of paint. I'll let it dry a few days and will put then back. It will also give me the opportunity to do my wiring better than it was.

 

Are you going to do the pods also?
