Cleaning the plastic inner bed/lining

Does anyone clean the bed, the plastic inner? I mean clean it, not just hitting it with some water. Mine looks like it's fading and getting all ugly, I'm not happy with that. I may get some Back to Black but I'm not sure about spending that much money on something that will kill off practically the whole bottle. Any ideas?

 

i just broom it out every once in a while, nothing fancy.

if yours is looking bad, maybe hit it with some armorall in a few spots to see how it works. worth a shot. ive never heard of 'back to black'

 

it's made by Mothers. I did a little Armoral, but I am worried about what the Armoral will do to the plastic in time. I have seen dashes start to crack with all the coating from it that people seem to get on it.

 

I sprayed mine with Bleche-White and scrubbed it to get deer blood that had stained it. It worked well and did no damage.

 

how was it color wise after? I'm trying to get it back to a nice new finish.

 

It's gonna get dirty no matter what. I don't clean it at all. Mother Nature takes care of that every winter

 

I just hate looking at it all faded and the rest is all nice and shiny. Yes I baby my truck, A LOT. So it bothers the living hell out of me when it's dirty, I am also like this with my other vehicle and the rest of my things, I'm OCD like that I guess.

 

I need to know how to get it back to black also!!!! Mine doing the same thing!

 

Still shiny like new. I used a soft bristle brush.

 

I guess worse comes to worse that 8 oz. bottle of Mothers will have to do then

 

I've just clean with car wash soap and Shamwow dry. Afterwards I put 303 protectant on it. 303 is good stuff on plastics and won't degrade and provides UV protection.

I found the best place to buy was at my local Toyota dealer $12/16oz or Marine West boating supply stores a bit more.

Get some 303 aerospace on it.

 

Don't Use Armoral on ANYTHING!!! It Drys out Rubber, Plastic & Vinyl. I believe the bed is like a Fiberglass (Fiber-reinforced Sheet-Molded Composite), therefore, maybe gear yourself toward Boat Products.

I have a 2000 Solara with 27,000 mi on it (My Baby), though mostly in a tent during inclement weather, the five coats of Polimar Car Polish in 2000 still shines. There Car Wash adds more Polimar. They have a great Tire Care Prod and a whole list of other stuff. The instructions I read in 2000 stated not to touch your vehicle with anything but USA made Cotton "Canon" or "Fieldcrest" Towels. Here is a thought for you guys. I planned on getting just the floor of the bed and wheel wells rhino lined when my truck started to look bad.

 

back to black or amorall might make it slippery as hell

 

^ X2 watch your footing as well as any gear you put back there after treating it with cleaner or other stuff. I take care of the paint and interior but don't mind the bed looking scratched and used, it looks like a truck is used as a truck should be used...

Get a bed mat, or bed rug. The mat covers the bottom, but the rug covers the bottom, sides, and tailgate. Things will also tend to slide around a lot less.

mine is faded, beat up, and anything you could think of. Guess what, its a truck and its ment to be used and looked like it's used. HA but yea back to black is prolly your best bet.
