I'm not sure how easy it is to switch out the HD in a Mac. I know the newest ones are much harder (if not impossible) since IIRC they are glued in place. As far as mine goes I dunno? You will also need a special set of tools to take the back off since Apple uses their own proprietary screws on the back.

I've done it before. It shouldn't be too bad. If something has drastically changed, then I'll just get an external ssd for it

That should work. Just make sure you get one that has a high transfer rate through the Thunderbolt connection and not a cheap SSD drive that runs through a USB port.

Stupid GoPro Quik editing program doesn't open .mov files which the mavic records in. That option is now out

That's gonna take up all my time lol. I'm trying this Corel VideoStudio software.... same damn issue. Apparently no software for windows supports .mov files which is really fucking stupid. Guess I'm now going to waste time and convert the files over

Use QuickTime Player » Export » and select the format you want. Change the file extension from ".m4v" to ".mp4"

    HandBreak can also be used

Watch out for windows updates turning GoPro studio into a crashing pile of trash... Happened to me recently. Just reverted back to a previous service pack and all is well.

I used GoPro Studio for a bit after I picked up my first GoPro. It's okay for splicing clips together but as far as color correction or grading it's not that great. Simple to use but that's about it. There are better programs out there but if you really want to put together a nice well put together video then money is going to have to be spent for a quality. Which is why I stand by Final Cut Pro X. But... I've got a Mac so I realize that isn't an option for everyone. There are some other video processing programs out there and I've tried quite a few but they usually fall short in one way or another. So... IMO for a decent well rounded program some money will have to be spent to get the best video. The only video I ever used GoPro studio on and it was just a timelapse of an entire day at the house just to test out the timelapse function of the GoPro.

Kind of cool seeing the sun and shadows move across the yard.

Wasn't saying studio was a great program. But for free99 it does a good job at filling a gap since I could care less about my crappy footage off my miniquad. I just mentioned it since he had said something about quick.

Something is wrong, Corel VS will definitely open MOV files. I just pulled one from my Mavic. In the Video Track (Looks like a film reel) area right click and select Insert Video. Find the file and select it. It should import it instantly.

Can you at least play the MOV file in Windows? If not you might need the MOV codec. The easiest way is to install Apple Quicktime. More info can be found here.

Time lapse video is great. I like to add a few seconds here and there into longer videos to give a dramatic effect.
I used these two shots in our anniversary video. It was in Kauai and Oahu

My desktop was having all sorts of problems yesterday. I just gave up. I'm going to try again today on my laptop and see what happens.

You can do all those things with the Mavic also. I've got a feeling that if you bought the Spark it would always be in the back of your mind that you wish you would have bought the Mavic because it does so much more. JMO

Except you can't land on your hand. But it does everything else.

You can hand launch your Mavic and land it also. This is good if you want to use it in a place that is not conducive for taking off or landing. You just need to be careful on landing as it will want to fight you for just a second because of the downward facing cameras. You can easily override that function though. Just be mindful of the blades.
