I went in extra early one day, got in my stand I was relaxing and listening to eveytging. I hear something in front of me but its too dark to see. As it gets lighter I keep hearing the same noise right if front of my stand, and now I want to know what it is. I ha about 10 or 15 mins. to go before light so I wait it out. It gets light enough to see just shapes no detail, but I can tell it's a deer and the body is pretty big. I take my time and stand up, get my bow and I'm ready to draw as soon as I can see. I can see antler but no real detail. Right as I'm getting ready to draw a turkey bombs out the tree that I'm in scares off the buck. WTF! I was pretty mad at the time, now its a funny story. Good Luck to all my fellow hunters.

my wife was out hunting one evening a couple seasons ago and had a flying squirrel land on her head. She about had a heart attack because earlier in the week she had seen a mountain lion next to the house, verified by a game camera pic a couple nights later...she thought for sure that mt lion had pounced on her.

One if coolest things that happened to me in the stand was a Redtail hawk landed on a branch about 2 ft from my head. I turned my head real slow
it was looking at me like wtf are you?!?! I just sat still and watched. I guess it figured i wasn't a threat and started looking in the field. I watched it spot a rabbit and swoop down from the tree snatch it. I was awesome!

That's the way it goes! We start off in our stands an 1 1/2 before first light every session, I call it the (DQ hour)
    the Dead quiet hour!
    My favorite time!
(and yes, that gets a little ruff when it's 21° outside)

Had about a dozen Toms roosting about 100 ft in back of me one morning. Didn't know they were there and I almost had a heart attack when it was flydown time.
Sounded like somebody throwing bowling balls around.

I almost had a heart attack last year, it was a little later in the morning and I fell asleep at some point. Well the next thing I know I feel something grab the back of my leg and it's climbing up so obviously this scares the living shit out of me and I jumped up and the squirrel that had mistaken my leg for a tree branch was now air born and I can only assume was as freaked out if not more by the whole experience as I was. Well he ended up in an actual branch just across from me and we're just staring at me probably thinking the same thing I was...... DAMMM that was crazy NUTS. Hahahaha

I love that time in the dark when you're sitting there and you slowly here the forest coming back to life after that grizzly bear of a human came through thinking he was quiet, LOL ,

One time I was getting in the stand during the rut and had only made it about 4 feet up the ladder when a buck come charging out of the brush wanting to fuck up whoever was in his woods, and I thought to myself as a froze on the latter, don't you dare make a sound or he is going to charge straight at me and mow me down, I must've stood there 4 feet off the ground for what seemed like 25 minutes because obviously I didn't of course want to give my spot up

Bought a used Mathews HRT last week, was a little nervous it wouldn't live up to the hype I had read about. Got it set up and took it out, went from 20 yards to 80 in about 1 hour. Cant believe how awesome this bow is. Had a ton of fun just setting up the target in weird spots and being able to put the dot on it and hit. Gives me a huge confidence boost for hunting antelope this weekend

Nice!, like you I was also a skeptic at first when I got my first Matthews. I thought to myself, OK let's see what all the hype is about! And like you I also shot 70 yards in the hunt, that's great to here. Good shooten!
