34,225 is the starting MSRP of both, don't understand why it showed the way it did in the screen shots I took.

Does hat mean the sport can only lock rear diff in 4LO (manual trans)?

The Sport does not have the Rear Locker.

Just wanted to apologize for being so inactive on this thread, but you guys (plus some of the other quotes I missed), have been incredibly helpful in this decision.

From what I've gathered it sounds like:

    1. The OR is overkill but certainly a better bang for my buck.
    2. It will be easier to put a scoop on an OR, than bilsteins locker on a Sport
    3. An Access Cab will work better for my uses, but i think the Double looks better
    4. Law950's Taco is sick.

So for anyone thats added a scoop to an OR, how much did it cost you?

Don't forget the crawl control / a-trac. Used my a-trac today. Went from dead in the water to walking right out of the mudhole.

IMO the A-trac is more of a selling point than the locking rear diff. It gets used more, effectively.

    I will tell you this...

You may not need it now, but if you are keeping this truck 10 years I promise there will come a time you wish it was a 4 door, and you will they an extra cab. DCSB would be my advice.

If the dirt bike hauling is really an issue get a small cheap utility trailer for the times you need it. While I'm no fan of Harbour Freight, they have a trailer that would work for hauling bikes for about $400.

Lastly if you like the looks of the Sport get the Sport. OR has more "function" but for what sounds like your needs the sport will handle it fine. Either truck needs better tires than it comes with IMO, especially in snow.

I 100% believe you're right Reluctanse, but I feel the amount of times that I will wish I had a 6ft. bed will outweigh the amount of times I will be wishing I had more seats to accommodate my cheap, no good, never pay for gas friends :p

I had several 5th gen 4Runners in seven years and I traded one for my Tacoma a few months ago. I live in WV in the mountains so I know snow. All of my 4Runners except one had rear lockers and crawl control. I go off road for my job at least a few times a month. In seven years, I never needed the locker and the only time I engaged it was to exercise it. Now, I got the 4runners stuck several times over the years but lockers and crawl control were not going to help lol. Needed a log skidded to jerk me out of the bog...

So, from a practical point unless you are a rock crawler or are off roading just to see if you can go up a hill then, at least in my experience, crawl and locker are just extra stuff. The Sport I have rides really good on the road, which is where you will be 99% of the time.

    Scoop. Scoop. Scoop....

In your screen shot you have it comparing an access cab sport and a double cab off road

I owned that '91 XtraCab Pickup for 16 years and now this Access Cab for 2.5. Before jumping to Toyota I had a Super Cab Ranger for 4. So that's a bit more than 2 decades of bouncing 4wd pickups around Colorado and I've never wished for a real back seat in the cab. But OTOH being able to close the tailgate on my 6 foot tall self when camping and it's raining or snowing is priceless.

After my King shocks were just installed, I loaded up my XR650R pig. The XR is just a lttle long even for my long bed.

    Diagonal would be ok though.

Nice catch but I can't change it, that's what yota has on that screen. But I will check to see if that's the difference in price.

Super Bumper brand bumper - Spare Bumper model.

Protects and absorbs hits. Has thick rubber discs that compress.

Sorta mean to anyone who hits you you. They get damaged, you do not.

Also can be used for a bed step and a trailer hitch.
