Good news: all the crying Californians will be doing today during the blackout will help to further reduce the drought issues in their state. Experts are expecting levels to approach those after the 2016 presidential election results were determined.

Neighbor asked why I got my generator out and mounted it on the teardrop this past weekend. Told him that the electric was going to go out with rolling blackouts because of the eclipse. He laugh, said it wouldn't do that, then I reminded him about all the solar and solar/steam generating places, going to be a hit for several hours. He has been in a panic for two days.

Just getting ready for a two week camping trip...

There are now three ballot initiatives to secede, and/or break up the state into 3 parts. Sucks, we get stuck in the crappy one. Hope Nevada annex's the eastern sierras after we move.

Have the folks who submitted the secession initiatives counted up how much Cali will lose in Federal aid for any number of things?

IE Cali would be totally self sufficient?

And that as being another 'country', all your services that come from other states, like water and power, can either be terminated or re-priced?

Or maybe their secondary plan is to just apply for foreign aid.

It will be fun watching them all have to have passports to leave Cali to go anywhere.........

Just make sure they keep all the Hollywood types confined over there! :fingerscrossed:

As far as the eclipse is concerned, you guys re elected Moonbeam.:rofl:

Not trying to be political, don't want the thread locked

They think that since they have more GNP than most countries they can do it, still produces a lot of food, will have unlimited labor force to pick crops... their military will be fabulous in pink camo... and with 10 round magazines....

The last time they tried to split the state into 6 parts I was ok as we ended up in a good part.

Yep and they can keep hollyweird, and you forgot we elected him twice for 2 terms each and the senate and mayor of Oakland, we never learn....

We're getting Political here. But I will ask.

How long before there's more people in the cart than pushing the cart in CA?

I think the economic benefits would work themselves out somewhat when balanced by the necessity to import water and electricity from the US.

Sensational headline designed to appeal to the lowest common denominator living states like mine. Don't get me wrong North Dakota has been good to me, but I'd get back to California in a second even with the bullshit laws.

Don't worry, the butthurt little snowflakes won't vote anyway, half the protesters are out of state voters and the other half are illegals. Seriously, we are moving to Inyo county and I'd vote for it but they will be stuck with LA and SD. Might try to move about 15 more miles north to Mono county then we'd be Jefferson State. I just don't want to answer the question "where you from?" with Mono, prefer Inyo....

Your can't divide it people/cart and get a good answer. In our neighborhood one lady has 5 shopping carts and stolen trash bin. She stays on the move, pushes one a hundred feet, goes back for another, repeat. Was funny the day she did this in front of the SDPD substation, had to cross the trolly tracks and she left them almost but not quite blocking the entrance for about 2 hours for the move. And the city counsel won't let the PD do anything to these unfortunate individuals.
