I noticed today that one of my gauge cluster rings that I painted black as a "chip" on it.

Not sure how the hell it happened, but my OCD is killing me.

Debating whether or not I want to take the dash apart to repaint it, or try to touch it up with a marker.

Yeah... thinking about trying that too, in hopes it saves me a bunch of work. If it doesn't work, then oh well. Take it apart it is.

Sounds more like a dull blade. Ran it into a rock possibly, or stumped something hard. Get a skip tooth on there. Pay the money for a new chain before replacing the bar. UNLESS you run your finger along the chainless bar and get some snags. Then new bar for sure. Hope I'm being helpful and not telling you things you know.

86.3% for me. Laughed at trying to appreciate it, but also marveled at how bright and hot the sun is that far away even at that coverage.

Fairly new chain, had it sharpened fall of last year and didn't really use it. I'm under the impression the groove on the bar that holds the chain has gotten too wide and now the chain doesn't sit properly/level. I sharpened the chain with a rat tail file and tried every combo of tightness on the chain but all I get is dust. I'm gonna bring it with me to the husqvarna dealer here in town to have a "professional" look at it just to be sure.

What's the average lifespan of a bar? This one has cut through at least 36 cords of firewood through 3 chains.

Doesn't even have a license plate yet!
Now if only AutoAnything would honor their discount on suspension components or brands like Icon and others... Looked through the list and couldn't find anything I immediately needed, and if I'm going coilovers and remote reservoirs, I'm avoiding buying anything I don't immediately need (which isn't easy)

Sounds like you have it covered. Average life? Man, I don't know. Just in the last few years I've run "East Germany" made Stihl's, 30+ years old, with original bars.

Just to chime in, the horns are grounded through their mounting point. I relocated one of mine to a plastic tab and couldn't figure out why my horn sounded like a VW bug. Only one was working and then I realized why! Gotta mount it to chassis ground somewhere.
