I finally got around to ordering the breakout harness I need for my powered subwoofer so I can finally get around to putting it in. I've only had it since Christmas. I figure Amy's going to be induced in two weeks and I'll likely take 2.5-3 weeks off so I'll have some spare time to kill once the baby's here so I can take my time getting everything into the truck. I've been meaning to throw my CB setup together as well.

Found out the battery in the Vette is completely dead. I figured it was down because I only seem to find time to drive it on the weekends and it had been sitting a bit, but after charging the battery and getting it running, I took it to the in-laws beach house on Sunday after giving it a long drive and it was dead. I had a half day today so I went down with my charger and got it to about 70% indicated charge, got it running and drove it home. I pulled into my garage, shut it off and it won't restart, so I'm likely due for a battery. I'm going cross-eyed trying to figure out what the best one for the car is. Normally I'd go Optima, but it seems like they don't have a great rep in the Vette world. I'd also likely get an AGM battery since the side poles on the Vette batteries tend to leak, and the car's major electronics are right under there, so I'm not sure which route I'm going (AC Delco, Interstate, Odyssey, etc).

My brain has been fried for about a month trying to get everything done between home, the baby and work. I spent 3 hours last night comparing and contrasting floor liners for the Jeep. I need a vacation.

 

What about Guinness? Can I get some love for Guinness?

I know a few spots. You can also go about 30 mins North on 16 to Stratton/Eustis and fish Flagstaff and some other ponds and lakes

I just meant that those two places usually have stuff no one else in the area carries. Like Cone Head from VT and Iron Duke as a local place for me. I have not seen them at any other stores

 

If you want a hand with any wiring let me know! Also I would recommend an AC Delco battery. My buddy has one in his track 300zx that barely gets fired up since its due for a timing belt and he doesn't have his license at the moment. He's a master tech and swears by them as well. The one in the 300zx is 9 years old and gets jumped and runs for a couple hours in the spring. Then it starts up by itself the rest of the year

 

Thanks! I actually just put this exact sub in my friend's WRX for him. I just have been lazy buying all the harnesses I need to do it. The breakout harness means I don't have to cut any factory wiring. I'm a huge fan of doing all my wiring in such a way that it's as reversible as possible without cutting in to the truck at all. My last truck could basically be killed at the circuit breaker I had added. I don't have the panel / breaker setup in the new truck yet, and haven't ultimately decided what I'm doing there.

The Delco one is on my list, especially since Advance Auto has an identical one (Group 78 AGM) for less than the Delco but both that one and the Delco one doesn't have the reserve minutes that meets the C5 spec. I will read more when my brain is working again.

Hmmm check what they recommend and what's similar in size. (just like I have a 4cyl Tacoma and bought the bigger battery for a v6 with tow package from Toyota)
