You have to admit though. There's a lot of entitlement these days. Easy for people to get frustrated and throw it out.

He is ¨entitled¨ to allow the dealership to provide service under the warranty contract.

Spend 35grand plus on a new truck, giant Toyota and rich car dealer owner makes profit. Little guy gets stuck with a problem truck.

I think you have to give the dealership a chance to fix it before the Lemon Law would apply.

If any of you listen to late night national sports talk, there is a guy named Ben Maller. He talked about his ordeal with his car (not a Tacoma) a few times on the show, then evidently was told to shut up about it as he stopped almost completely. He would find ways to indirectly complain once in a while, but nothings specific - just complained about the loaner car they gave him. It took him about a year to get a new car.

That is why things like consumer reports exist. I know things were still peachy in that department when you bought yours, but these issues are well known at this point, and publications like consumer reports have made them known. I don't think the OP is acting entitled to want it fixed, but to be talking lemon law after 3 days, 2 of which were weekend, is a bit much.

Don't use this website for research. If you do, pretty soon you will, by osmosis, have every problem you read about. Deal with the dealer, next Toyota proper. If you get no satisfaction then go through the courts. Posting here about issues does absolutely nothing to help fix your truck. Nothing.
Good luck and if this is buyer's remorse, make a wiser choice next time.
I am always skeptical when someone comes from a BMW or Mercedes to a normal Toyota. Apple's and oranges.

Don't get carried away now with lemon law. I would go back and ask for my truck back and sign a waiver relieving them of responsibility If anything bad happens afterwards.

First off, you need to calm down if you seriously think that you can simply file a lemon law against the truck. Give these people some time to do their job. Don’t panic if they tell you they can’t duplicate either concern.

Now you bring up two concerns that to me, sounds like you’re simply asking them to perform the update, without even really driving the truck. Are you sure you’re experiencing these issues or are you the type that reads something on the internet and automatically assume this applies to you.

I feel your pain. A brand new vehicle is not supposed to have these issues. My replaced rear diff is noisy and i am not happy.

    My dealer does not loan out Tundras, the first thing I got was a Dodge Journey, went back and told them when a Tacoma comes in, I would like to switch, because I need a truck. Few days later I got a nice DCOR, and they can keep my truck for as long as they want, keeps the miles off and eventually I will get mine back, 4weeks and counting :}

I don't want to incite a flame war in this thread, but one of the most striking things I noticed when I joined this forum is how incredibly resourceful and willing everyone is to fix their trucks. The stuff you guys have apparently put up with for years and are willing to deal with is shocking. It's a whole different culture.

You have guys gluing hoods, manually checking trans fluid with crazy paperclip procedures, duct taping holes on control arms, building shift controller, torquing ubolts, greasing slip joints, wedging toothpicks in dashboards for squeaks, lubing leaf springs and adding bike innertubes etc all on BRAND NEW trucks. All because Toyota won't fix the problems or the dealerships are such a pita people don't want to deal with them.

I'm not sure if it's a chicken/egg thing: does Toyota not fix anything because they know you all will fix their problems OR do you fix the problems because Toyota won't fix anything?

No this is where people who like to bitch and complain, come to find others to bitch and complain about things. Soon it turns into an entire bitch and complaining festival. Not gonna say there isn't some helpful stuff on here but it's a lot of the same shit. This guy is pulling TSBs because he read some info on here and they aren't even applying to his truck. Everyone is quick to read something and assume that's the problem and fix for their truck. This guy is claiming law because they even had the chance to properly diagnose and repair the vehicle. Another symptom of being on these forums too much

Some owners just flat out refuse to ever take their trucks back to the dealership. I can understand some peoples issues with dealerships but the same thing happens with independent shops as well. The thing to understand is every dealer is different. Even at a dealership that aims to take care of their customers there are still technicians that don't want to deal with certain problems. There isn't a lot of money to be made for most warranty jobs and most would rather be on customer pay jobs and going gravy work. I've seen it all working in a dealership. I've seen pissed off customers come in from outside dealerships come to our dealership to get a repair taken care of and I've seen some pissed off customers leave our dealerships and go to other places to get repairs done. A technician may legitimately not be able to duplicate a concern and have little to nothing to be able to proceed in a repair. If they spend 3 hours trying to duplicate an issue that they can't replicate, they don't get paid. Would you want to spend 3 hours working on something at your job and recieving little to no compensation for it? You might say yes and that might be a one time thing, but how about every day? I've also seen techs that just don't want to be bothered. They will lie to a service advisor about something and the service advisors job is to basically relay what the tech says back to the customer. So if he doesn't want to work on something he could lie and say it's all fine. Service advisor tells you that and you get all pissed off. Could be 20 other people in the shop that would spend the time to look at it or want to fix it but you just so happened pull a short straw. I've also seen many customers come in with such high demands and expectations that it's pretty much impossible to be able to fully please them. No matter what you do. I can tell there are several on here that would easily fall into that category. We have customers in our area that have been banned from other dealerships and our own as well. Obviously when that happens the customer has clearly been out of line and the issue is them. Especially when regional reps and corporate members of auto groups and the manufacturer get involved. So some customers have had bad experiences so they try and be resourceful and find and fix an issue on their own. Others just love to tinker and fix things. It gives them something to do. So they get creative. And then you just have the people who flat out bitch, whine and complain. They complain here, they complain in public, and they complain in the dealership. They find and use this site to just use as fuel or ammunition for their rage. You know because everything on the internet must be true. So while I commend some people who have bad experiences for trying to figure out their problems themselves, others just seem to make more problems. So I wouldn't say that Toyota won't fix the problems. Toyota wants to fix the problems and the last thing they want is people bitching online, publicly, and upset. It's bad PR for them. Dealerships are represented by their employees. Most want to help the customer, especially today where a big part of their income comes from surveys directed from the manufacturer. However sometimes you just get bad people, or get someone at a bad time. That happens with anything, anywhere.

I personally would rather a Toyota Engineer look at it, as opposed to a dealership's shop help... when it comes to dealerships and their service departments, I don't get the fuzziest of feelings leaving any of my vehicles under their watch.

I definitely understand how you feel having your brand new vehicle pop up with issues... the excitement of having a new car (bought with your hard earned money) is a feeling we would get, but a handful of times in our lives... only to be ruined by a less than perfect truck.

And yes, any new vehicle I buy, I'd expect to be damn near perfect!!! As much time as I've researched, car searched, and fought with the sales team (and then the finance dude), I'd expect PERFECTION!

Good luck in getting what you want, whether its a fixed truck, a new truck or getting out of this truck. I'd let the dealership and the engineers try to fix it before taking legal action... Good luck

    No war here man lol.
In reality, how many guys do what you described? Not many in reality. It just seems that way because of this forum. They sold 16K Tacomas... last month! The total participants here in the 3rd gen forum number in the hundreds not thousands. This place has some good enthusiasts but is a miniscule amount compared to total ownership. So what you read here is NOT the norm lol. It's what a bunch of people who love to talk about trucks looks like.

Your no where near a lemon law problem at this point. The specialist will be there quickly and they will make a call on what to do . As for a Corolla that's what they have, I know it sucks but sounds like there getting it taken care of. Everything can't always be remedied in a day unfortunately. They will get it fixed .
