What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Nice! Amazing what a 98 Taco can become from a guy in his garage. I think half the Mercedes/BMW type driving crowd and soccer moms have absolutely no clue what it is when they see it. I love their faces when i floor it next to them and the wastegate floods open. They have a look of combined disgust and confusion. Lol.

 

Low key they're probably jealous of the color.

Had this happen to me with my Cobra and my girlfriend who is a professional photographer emailed the company to either take them down or pay her for the use of it. The company removed them and never responded.

First gen still the best looking

 

It gets used trust that. I can always go higher and the net holds it all down. But I dont beat on it. Well yes I do just sensibly. I run over curbs all the time doing like 40 when people are riding my ass. They freak out and back off. About to put in some off road/air time this weekend......

 

Does the custom, 5 foot stinger not count as a hoop?

 

It's a nightmare but it's coming along, almost got the tranny in entirely today. But I have to sort out the power situation for the welder, was super inconsistent so I gave up for the day.

 

What kind of problems have you been running into?

I have the same problem with welder power. I can't run mine for longer than 5 minutes without tripping the breaker, I always end up running a generator extension cord to my laundry room and plug into the 30A washer supply.

 

I tried that, using a Millermatic 211 so I could use 110 for this thickness of metal I guess. May do that on Wednesday. I keep tripping half of the 220 circuit, I lose L1 and L2 leaves me with not enough juice to finish the job with the welder still thinking it's in 220 mode.

That reminds me of when I was working under the hood trying to get something working and I shorted the positive and negative battery posts together with a spanner. I almost welded that damn thing to the post if I didn't knock it off when I did.

 

Funny enough I actually am considering this. I can lay a mean stick weld, actually it's quite possibly my most practiced form of welding. I have plenty of car batteries.
