My only issue with the consideration of electric fans is the factor of offroading. From my understanding a clutch style is far more reliable when we are talking about the wheeling world due to the vibration, harshness, and abuse that rigs can take. Especially the way I like the run mine.

I believe that is mostly an issue when going through water or mud, as that would burn up the motors. Wiring a simple shut off switch should solve that issue.

Were that the case, all sorts of off road rigs wouldn't swap to electric fans. Trophy trucks, baja, etc.

That IS true... And I'm not an expo/overland rig. I prefer to go fast and break shit rather than turn it into a submarine or mud pool.

What kind of fans are you guys running and method of controlling on/ off times as well?

The fan is better suited by being mounted to the body of the truck. The engine experiences a lot more vibrations and jarring movements than the body does.

Also, an electric fan allows you to have 100% fan efficiency at all times, regardless of engine RPM.

    Flippy switch.

I've had issues with the thermo switches in the desert before

Inlet and outlets are the wrong size for our trucks. I can confirm that the 620-101 Denso fan is more then capable with a basic shroud on the stock radiator. But the all aluminum units would be much better.
I ordered one and just need to fit it in with the new motor

Yea, I noticed that, but it wouldn't be too hard to change that I don't think. You ordered the Denso fan or the Mitsubishi radiator?

Mishimoto radiator for the Nissan 300zx. I already have the fan running on the stock Tacoma radiator. It works even under load but very hard to keep even temps.

Dakota digital pac-2750 to control the fans. Expensive but gives lots of options.
Also will mention that a simple breaker for me controls on off ATM once I wire in more control I will have a solid on/off/auto switch.

$113 for an external from ECM radiator fan control module is actually not that expensive. It looks pretty nice also!

Since I don't plan on upgrading my rad and fans to this one till the end of the year. What's a good brand of electric fan to get now??

Grab that Dorman 620-101. Can't get much better and it will flow 2 to 3 times as much as most aftermarket fans.

What's a reasonable number for parasitic loss on the stock setup? Is it a noticeable improvement going to an electric fan?

Can't speak for the V6, but it was a HUGE improvement on my 4cyl. Easily 10-15% for me
