    I'm interested in a short bed kit and also the hood kit for a 2017. I would like to know also if I can wire the bed kit to the 3rd brake light so the switch inside the truck controls the bed lights too

    I can tell you first hand that this is a very simple installation with very clear instructions. The hood kit took maybe 20 minutes max. For my tool box I just purchased the light strip only and wired and installed my own switch. That took longer because I had to zip tie wires from the bed to the battery plus tied a ground to a bed-to-frame bolt. If you can connect a basic car battery then you can easily wire this kit quickly without issues. Biggest part of setup is thoroughly cleaning the areas where light strips mount. Use soap and water then follow up with an alcohol wipe.
