I don't mind the bed side stickers (probably going to change so its not silver with a black vinyl one). I removed the V6 badge becuase it looked super out of place since it was the only raised emblem on the back. I plastidipped the Tacoma emblems on the side so they are black. I like others just didnt like the chrome. I removed the dealership banner on the windsheild and but left the one on the tailgate. I normally dont like dealership stickers but this one I just cant bring my self to remove :notsure:, its strange I know but it adds this sort of uniqueness to it when I travel which is kind of cool. One day I will probably remove it, probably the same day I get Black TRD Off-Road Bedside stickers haha.

Left the badges, but had the dealer remove the TuRD 4x4 Off Road decals from the sides during vehicle prep. Also, would not let them slap on their dealer decals.

Now that everybody de-badged their trucks; those few remaining owners, can charge Toyota a sponsorship fee for advertising?

what would you suggest would be the best way to remove the dealer decal or really any decals? I've never done this before but I don't really care for them and think my truck would look a lot cleaner without them.

On day two, I shaved all the stickers and badges from the truck. I just don't like the factory putting their name on something that I had to pay for... no sponsorship, no decal...

I like how they look, usually. Modern trucks are so big that they've got these huge expanses of body panel that a badge or a decal helps break up. But I'm not crazy about waxing around them, lol.

I just peeled them off with my fingers and used goo-gone to remove any residue that was left (for Vinyl). For the chrome badges I ran fishing line under them and then used goo-gone for the residue. It was in the 90s outside when I did it and had no issues at all.

Let us know how easy (or not) that it is! I'm really thinking it will look better without them.

The less chrome the better. It's gaudy, and ultimately it gets pitted (chrome is actually porous to water).

I know this is a 3rd Gen thread and I own a 2.5gen. I am contemplating debadging to either paint black or to keep off permanently. I have a super white truck as seen in my avatar pic, and it's a '12. Do any of you think there will be any ghosting on the truck from where the badges are and will be removed?

The sooner you remove the decals, the better.

so i went ahead with the debadge using the recommendations from this thread, mainly these two items in the pic above.
    -3M Auto Adhesive Remover.
    -3M Eraser Wheel
    - dental floss (or fishing line, etc)

i initially used my heat gun, but quickly realized it wasn't helpful and could actually mess everything up.

i needed the Adhesive Remover in tiny amounts, about 2 small squirts per side just to help the floss dig into the first corner. after that maybe another small squirt to keep it going. getting the badge off requires very little effort.

after the badge is off, don't use any Adhesive Remover, just use the Eraser Wheel dry. it needs to be dry to get traction on the gummy adhesive. start at the corner, apply a bit of pressure with the edge of the wheel meeting the edge of the adhesive. you'll literally erase the stuff off... it rolls it off like a gummy mess. took me about 2 minutes per side, then i washed it. done.

perfectly clean, zero damage to paint or anything. this is a perfect solution for debadging.

Thinking long and hard about this to offset the V6 on the tailgate.
