Your subie has a single pack with wires, it looks like this, and you see the 4 couplers where the wires would run from?

 

Your tacoma had whats called coil on plug each plug has its own coil. The subie has a single coil remote mounted with wires running to the plugs (oldschool).

Nope a distributor has a single coil mounted away from it with a single wire that uses a rotor and cap to send spark down the plug wires. (Very old school) lol

I could have gotten way more technical with this but i dont feel like typing it all out lol

 

Im trying man. Working 70 hours a week and making time for wife and kidlets dont leave much time for tacoma world buddies.

 

a distributor on my 89 toyota pickup is all I've ever dealt with.

 

If it's any consolation, Matt should know all about electrical systems because those Mercs he works on are probably already fucking up coming off the line.

My wife is working this weekend so i have to watch kidlets, or id come up and help/teach ya some things. Like i said our schedules are crazy. When i have a weekend off she has to work and vise versa.
