I did paleo for awhile the meals we ate were outstanding when we followed others recipies, my one gripe was how expensive it got trying to get the freshest products, we scaled that back pretty quickly. For our coffee we ended up using real coconut milk, to me I actually like the flavor quite a bit.

That does suck. No wonder mericuh is so fat. Fresh Veggies/fruit are f'n expensive, as is decent meat. Chicken isn't bad when bought in bulk, I would just rather eat red meats.

Definitely should have gotten 3 lobsters. Also, imo the best meat is in the thorax between the leg sockets. Just don't eat the gills...

    Hey, @fatfurious2
When you get back to Virginia, I'd highly recommend a trip to the Carter Mountain Orchard for the Bold Rock taproom. Maybe at sunset. It was pretty sweet when I was there this spring.
And if you like your drinks on the lighter side some of their hard ciders are pretty good.

OEC and Black Hog are both near the Airport.
My BIL walks thru the woods in back of his house to visit Black Hog. Lucky man!

Yeah, a 20oz of Coke costs $.99 but a water is $2. A bag of angina at Mcdonalds costs $5 but a lousy basic salad is $7 at Subway. A frozen pizza is $5 but a rib eye is $14/lb, grass fed is $25/lb....

    Also power everything, smart phones...

Odds are it was picking up scraps on the floor of Casco Bay yesterday. Credit where it's due, one thing that can be said about most of the local seafood places is that their stuff is fresh.
