Stay away from Boston, take 495 to 290 to 90 to 84 if your headed to conn.

 

Your about 1hr, 1:20 away from here... trying to coordinate with drew and Rob now for a location.

I was going to suggest "Old Heidelberg" on rte 6 Bethel/Danbury line right next to 84.
Favorite German restaurant with over 50 German beers.
*BUT*

Yeah, once you get past Cumberland County it's a lot less Masshole-y and more Maine. The further you get, the more 'Maine' it gets.

 

I have to agree, even though there are parts of York (western) county that are not.

 

I think the next trip I'll come explore more. Have you guys heard of the golden road?
