This is how mine looked from factory. It's also what I expect it to look like once repaired.
    Thanks for picture.

Called the dealer too check up on when my parts will be in. "Parts are on back order we don't know when they'll be in, but we'll give you a call when they come in"

I guess you could call me a lucky one since they didn't take my truck from me or have me sign a waiver like others. I only have the slight weeping on a 17 TRD OR

So there is an official "fix" for the OR's?

Warranty on the carrier r&r, new bolts r&r, new gasket r&r. Not sure on the howl they are going to address that after the leak repair.

As far as I know the OR model has not been recalled, they are fixing it under warranty. They are treating it the same as recall on parts though. Some need new pinion bearing for howling issue i believe.

And in the pinion bearing replacement I don't think the dealers are replacing the bearing, others on here have had the entire 3rd carrier member replaced .

True only because they couldn't really pin point it to only the pinion bearing. They replaced my carrier not the whole axle, but no mention of it in the paper work.
Edit also I am not a OR, just sr5 that was on recall

I took mine in today for both the diff leak and CPS recall and they replaced the CPS and it looks like they ordered parts for the diff recall. My service adviser left me a message just saying I could come get my truck and then wasn't there when I got there so I haven't spoke to him yet. You can see on my invoice it says H0G RECALL parts on order. I'm glad they didn't ask to keep my truck. I did stick my pinkie finger in the diff and found oil so I'm not too concerned about driving it while waiting for the parts.

I don't see "no diag leak found" on my invoice. Is it encoded?

I am sorry if this is a re-post. Some have asked if my differential is quiet. I am happy to say that it is still quiet after 800 miles. I will post if that changes.

I would drain it when they take it in. The way they determine damage is based on how low it is.

It's the difference between a new diff and just some bolts and a gasket

Took my 2017 DCSB Limited in this week for the 5k / 6 month checkup in conjunction with the Rear Diff recall. While there were no signs of seeping or leaking, they re-tightened the bolts and added 1/2 quart of gear oil. TSB 0077-16 was also performed and the transmission was found to be 1/2 quart low also.

    Hey all,

I FINALLY GOT A CALL. My truck is ready after 60+ days. Excited to pick it up, but when I asked about it getting detailed I was told, "Yeah we washed it."

Pretty underwhelming. What did everyone else demand on top of that? I can't imagine my truck sitting under a tree and in the 100+ degree sun for over two months is good for the paint, is there a specific service I should demand besides a "detail"?

Before you start demanding anything I'd give it a good once over. If there any blemishes or anything that wasn't there before, address that specifically.

Why would you "demand" anything? They fixed your truck and gave you a rental at no cost...? Not sure what you're trying to get for free but Toyota doesn't owe you anything.
