    Like, so many.
I'd say know exactly what you want and what you DON'T want before going in. I'm nowhere near you, but that was certainly helpful for my. My dealership didn't have a truck like I wanted, but they ordered exactly what I wanted. It helped me keep costs down.

Not in Southern Cal but this is pretty much what I did in Georgia. Dealers never have problems selling the Tacomas so I would be surprised if you find a lot running any end of year sales on the Tacoma. If you do you might get $500 or $1000 off but generally that "discount" is accounted for in the mark up on the truck. It takes some work, and maybe the people on here can save you some time, but some dealerships will work with you. I shopped for about a year looking for a used Tacoma (before I became active on TW unfortunately), and if you're patient you can find good deals in the forums here. I looked all over South Carolina and Georgia but I ended up ordering my 17 last November because the used Tacos I found were only $3-5K cheaper than a brand new vehicle and often times had anywhere from 10,000/15,000 to 30,000 miles. The 16s on the lot weren't discounted much, and I figured if I was going to spend that kind of money I wanted to get exactly what I wanted. Finally, I went to multiple dealers and offered $500 over invoice while offering to pay MSRP for the options/packages I wanted. Some lots basically told me to go eff myself (including one internet salesman at the same dealership I got my truck... went up there a different time with a friend and randomly met one of the sales managers who genuinely loves Tacomas and agreed to my terms). For what its worth the first salesman was their internet guy and he had me come in to see their trucks. Once I was there he started BSing and trying to sell me on shit I didn't want/need so I walked out.

I was very adamant about getting exactly what I wanted, and in the end that is what I got. If you're going to buy a brand new vehicle, be stubborn and get what you want. Don't let them sell you on stuff you don't want or need. If you think something is cool chances are you can get it much much cheaper elsewhere. Keep in mind that it doesn't cost extra to order the truck from the factory, especially if its the beginning of the year and they have them coming anyway.

    Too few to list.
I didn't buy from them but just got quotes. I recently just my 3rd Gen three weeks ago and from what I found, most dealerships will take off $500 to about $1,300 from MSRP depending on the model.

I bought my truck up north as only Northern Region sells SR AC in 4x4's. SoCal only sells Prerunners and bought the truck at dealer invoice.

I did find Capitol Toyota in San Jose and they were giving a heck of a deal at $1K under invoice but they just didn't have the color I wanted at the time. It is a real deal, I was there and hands down the best price I could find.

Carson Toyota does pretty decent deals. I received good quotes on their 4Runners.

Yeah they were adding "Market Conditions" premiums after I ordered the truck and thought I'd negotiated $500 off MSRP for being a multi-time repeat customer. Plus the dealer didn't run through the options with me. Toyota of Orange was not a pleasant experience. Just make me feel like I got a little bit of a deal. If you charge me $2K just because you can, you can keep your truck.

You wont get any better deal on a 17 than an 18. Why not just wait a bit and get the 18 with TSS?

Go to AZ. I had bought mine there, they were much more willing to deal, especially on a 4wd. SoCal dealers no way. I flew out, bought it, drove it back, got it weighed at a weigh station on the way back ($10), got a smog check in CA ($50), went to the DMV and paid registration/picked up my plates.

In fact, with how ridiculous socal prices are, I paid 32.5k for it, drove it for 1.5 years, had issues with the truck so I sold it to a socal dealer for 31k and they listed it at 35k with 22k miles on it.

New to forum and got my first ever tacoma 2 weeks ago-msrp was 40,0007 and got it out the door at under 40,500. Not sure if it was a deal, but liking it so far. Was what I wanted. 17 SP dble OR short bed. Good deal, bad, or average????

As others have said - look north.

Freeman will issue you an unbeatable price via their internet team. My price was at invoice for a 2017 - exactly what options I wanted, truck is being built 9/5.

If you walk out the door in California for at or below sticker, you're doing alright.

bought mine in Las Vegas, NV Toyota of Sahara exit. Best deal I can get for the PRO.. Yuma, Arizona Toyota had close to the price range but it was not available till end of August-early September. I bought mine mid June and couldn't wait. All the SoCal dealerships definitely had higher premiums and it turned me off and went out of state for it. Do what the others have said, one way ticket, drive it back, and enjoy the ride home

If you're in SoCal go to LONGO Toyota, they are the world's largest dealership and they typically have 250+ Tacomas in stock. They have a 6 story parking garage in back full of vehicles and get truckloads in every night, it's crazy. I drove down from the Central Coast to purchase there after getting fed up with local dealers. Start off by going through internet sales. If you want the contact to talk to there send me a PM and I'll give you an email address.

my recommendation is to go to an autonation dealer or ones that really focuses on VOLUME deal w/ their fleet/internet and go from there.

on a side note i'm surprised no one recommends toyota of HB, everyone on the instagram seems to swing from their nuts

They offered well below anyone when I was looking at a 4Runner. I know the Customer Service Manager, but the internet sales person didn't know that.
