Surely we wouldn't want the full Camry tune... maybe there are elements we can learn from it to improve the Taco tune, but I'd prefer to have OVs over what Toyota's doing based on our experiences with our trucks...!

I'd be down for a refined learning vs. doing away with it altogether but if refinement isn't possible I'd probably prefer it goes away entirely. I find that generally my truck will run best within 100 miles or so of a reset. Initially the fuel maps seem a bit wonky to me and it shifts too high for a bit, then slowly creeps back down to upshifting too soon and downshifting too late - somewhere in the middle is what I normally desire. The other factor I seem to notice is environmental variables. If I don't leave the city for a couple of weeks, it just bogs itself down trying to conserve fuel I assume b/c it's learned over many driving cycles that I slowly accelerate, stop, slowly accelerate, stop, etc., Then I leave the city 2-3 weekends a month generally where I'm on open interstates, mountain roads, forest roads, etc., and it just can't seem to shift to a completely different driving style. There are (rare) times when I can indeed see the learning doing something good, but it's temporary and it always seems to find a way to relearn the busy shifting at bad times causing a slam into a lower gear too late for my personal comfort.

Now back to business - what order # range do you expect to ship this week along with the fancy new cases? :)

Im hoping that's a good thing, gives you a bigger pool of data at your disposal.

I'm a broken record, but how many orders do you expect to get thru?

Edit: @bshammer0 beat me to it

@OVTune This^^^^^ After a fresh flash, the trans has a quick, crisp feel to the shifting in D. After driving it for a few days, the shifting seems to become dull again. Very noticeable.

@OVTune those who have 1.01B will get an email with 1.02 when it's ready without having to request anything or will there be options like the s mode hold that could be requested?

Also will the speed of the shifting in s mode be increased? Mine is really slow to shift when in s mode.

Uhm.. I beleive it's designed like that and you should probably not be letting s mode shift itself.

If it matters , I'm down for no learning also.
I'd like the truck to drive the same way every time.

@OVTune I also vote for no learning if it can be determined that there is no adverse affects of doing this.

I am driving a Camry rental right now and find myself wishing my DCSB TRD OR would drive as well on the freeway. I just can't figure why Toyota would put a tuned down version of a family sedan motor in a truck.

What about when I'm drag racing?? :burnrubber:

But seriously I mean when towing uphill and holding 3rd and I can finally go to 4th, that lag sucks. Im not saying instant slam, just faster engagement into the next gear. its literally more than a 2 seconds to shift.

Sorry. I misinterpreted your post then. I thought you were just romping around town in s mode and letting it shift lol..

I feel you. Could be a useful feature for uphill towing with large loads. I'm sure op can do it for you once he catches up on stuff.

Yep, once 1.02 is done and everyone has a tune the fine tuning can get some attention. OV may think about doing a poll on some of the more popular requests to get general consensus rather than all our shout outs in this thread, getting lost. Like:
    Speedo adjust for tire size
    S mode shift refinement
    87 tune
    Limited ecu learning
    Hyper low end torque feature

@OVTune , did you get a chance to implement any of the stated enhancements for M/T trucks? Also, I recall there was some discussion ref DFCO too...

After I put bigger tires on, my speedo is the same amount off, just in the other direction. Speedo says 60, I'm doing 63. Used to be 57

I'm 6mph off, says 60 I'm really 66, with the 285/70/17 Toyo MT's. This would be a great adjustment to have.

When will they be shipped out? Order 1977.

He said up to 1990 should be shipped next shipment... I'm 1980! excited!

Also a little concerned about the changes being made and any ill effects on the components, shift speed etc, not sure why Toyota wouldn't make the shift speed quick by default.

Toyota put a family car engine with a shitty tune in their truck.
