That knocking noise was caused by the oil filter. It has an anti-drainback valve which, once removed, removes oil from your engine passages that usually remain filled with oil. Upon starting the engine, it may take several seconds for oil pressure to reach normal levels and achieve quiet operation. On my xterra forums alot of people have experienced the same thing. Once all that oil has been drained out, it takes a little driving to get it all moving again. Typically the knocking is caused by a portion of air going through your cylinders instead of oil.

The guy that I went to was cool, I think his shop was called TNT mufflers. He gave a good deal and did some kick ass work. Plus he threw in some custom hangers.

Alright, back from vacation. Ester, you mentioned the Farmington Xterra. It's awesome. This will be the third year for it. I swim with, Eric Edgerton, one of the guys that started it. He's in his 40's but will hand most guys half his age their asses on a platter. I did the first year as a team. I was the swimmer. We got third place! I didn't do last year's because I was out of town. I'll be back for this year though. You up for it?

It's 10 weeks away. If you're going to commit to it, you probably should in the next couple of weeks. At least for me, once I have money invested, I take the training more seriously. 6-8 weeks of semi-serious training is good enough to get you through it without embarrassing yourself. I plan to do it. It doesn't look like the date is going to interfere with the wheelers coming up here.

It's a tough course but an awesome one. I heard that in only its second year it was rated one of the top 5 courses on the entire nationwide Xterra tour. The trails that you run and bike through are on the far side of the land that is so popular for off roading.

    Looks feckin sick Bo...!
Igot LR UCAs, they're more affordable, and suited just fine to a 2.5- 3" lift . I didnt need to go for the high end LT set up cause thats not the first step, and its major $$$... thats what i got from talking with toytec. I also got em for ~400 with the group buy. you can pm toytec or neubs for a discount code. ;)Last thing for me (for now) I am saving up for the dakar leaf pack and a few trimmings and i am ready!!!....ummm, that is til I win the lottery and go stage 4 IVD longtravel!!!! which isnt happening,so I'll just be happy with what i got. It aint shabby. :D
you planning for shocks and springs yet?
