    Check engine/Trac off light on...

    This was yesterday, this morning got their call telling me the catalytic converter crapped. No parts on shelf so loaner it is..

    Make sure they check the CPS as I recall a few guys having had that cause a converter failure too.

    All 4 crapped out...or was it just the rears or front??

    Well the rears arent monitored by the ECU so it would have to be one or both of the fronts.

    That's what I told the writer, truck has 12k miles on it, 2016 model.

    Two rears are not monitored but, he didn't say which if not both fronts...

    If a failing CPS causes a lot of misses (and it does) then rich conditions can occur. Too rich and you burn up a cat.

    But didn't have the same symptoms of a CPS failure, truck ran fine, no hesitation or shut off or limp mode or batt light... unless this one is different...

    CPS could be missing and you don't know it. A rich condition could exist. How has your gas mileage been? Is it trending lower up to the time of the cat failure.
