BEWARE THE FATES!

Coming home from work tonight, in the entry lane for the highway I noticed the guy in adjacent local traffic lane being a little drifty - figured he was texting but started to back off a little. Last second he jerks to the right trying to polish my front left headlamp with his right door pillar. Had to swerve, tire squeal, lots of horn on my part (well low tone anyway), but I missed him. Jerk! The jerk, well jerked his wheel in reaction, but kept going onto the ramp further cutting me off.
What happened to if you miss your exit go past, turn around & come back to do it right? now people just take the missed turn last second, or back up on a highway... WTH? ...and danged if he didn't do it again 1/2 mile up the road where the highway split, but not to me that time.

So a bit distracted still, I take my exit from the highway... almost home! ...before the torrential rain storms start! ...come around the curve too fast as I always do, & a branch comes down from a tree, mostly caught by the guardrail - but sticking out into the roadway.... & my tall taco (now with tall cap) going too fast & me not trusting a rapid swerve - HITS the branch. :-(

No broken windshield? Cool. no gouge in the A pillar, no damage to the side window no cap damage.... WTH I know I hit it with the A pillar????

Antenna. Took me a while in the dark to figure out, the antenna is snapped off clean.

So the fates were coming for the Taco one way or the other. I managed to minimize their damage, but they got me, so all y'all be careful out there.

Any thoughts on a replacement antenna anyone?
First thought is same again, but maybe something flexible makes more sense as I plan to drive into the woods with this truck in the future. If the flexy ones actually work?

(& no, no photos ((in the dark)) of stuff that isn't there to show.)(fortunately!)

 

Damn dude! Glad you're ok. Truck can be fixed. Im driving in this rain, and it sucks! Ive been on the road since 9am. I still have 45 more minutes

Morning all! @fatfurious2, hopefully you got to your destination without any issues. Driving in the rain at night isn't much fun...

 

Last night was gross, it initially started out as like alert in the thunderstorm, started getting worried on my way home cause of that and how windy it was

 

I never saw a drop of rain

 

Lucky, the lightening was quite cool but the sleet was not

I slept through anything we got at my house. The grass was wet this morning but I didn't hear any rain or thunder last night.

Just ordered up some goodies for the Ferd. Got 5100's coming for the rear and going to try out Sumosprings (sort of like Timbrens). Everything should be here in about a week or less so we'll see how it rides soon!

 

I used to go every year, but I go less frequently now that it's gotten less agricultural and more vendors with a marketing approach of "buy this shit for 40% more than it's worth because it's hippy-dippy"

I liked it a lot more when it was just a few vendors and more demonstrations of small ag at work, woodworking by hand, home crafting, etc.

 

I'm closing on the new house today. Blasting Richard Marx right now. It's going to be a good day

After the rectal exam I got for the mortgage this should be painless haha

 

I think I only signed my name 6 or 7 times when I bought my place. I had to do more signing when I bought my truck than when I bought my house.

 

Yeah... that was "fun"...
