Torn between leaf springs!! Help!!

    If you want more flex and more payload then go with Chevy 63s :D
    Mine are paired with 14" (shock relocate) with Ford shock towers but you could go up to 18"

    Chevy 63s are the way to go but are more work. Dakars work great, flex and handle weight. All pros if you want 3+".

    I planned on going 63's and all that. Then I decided to do these crazy things like get married and buy a house. So I sold my 63 kit to my brother. Honestly, comparing my setup to his both with 12" shocks we are about the same with flex. My setup is honestly the budget way to go while still being able to flex.

    OP, All of these things depend on your budget and if you're actually going to use the flex you are putting into it :thumbsup:

    Plenty of flex in the Dakars. Remove the retainer bolt on the furthest rear clip around the springs and you will be very pleased. Get someone to add anti friction pucks before you install the leaf pack. It's cheap and will keep them from getting squeaky. @ChadsPride did it. I went the ghetto route.

    Don't use your brake lines as limiting straps!!! I have 3" extended lines on, so I haven't removed the retainer bolt yet. My 29" lines are still in the box :cookiemonster:

    Not to hi-jack....wouldn't bother with single piece ds... My last Taco was an '05 access cab, 885s, dakars, 5100s, cb drop..... I had a woods single piece drive shaft and it just relocated the vibe to 50-55 mph...... everywhere else it was great and being lighter it was noticeably snappier when you hit the gas, BUT it hummed like crazy at 50-55.

    Also put dakars/5100s on my '15 dclb and I am happy with them.... replaced them the first week I brought the truck home from dealer.

    Where can I find pucks like this? I have the Allpro's, but they're squeaky as hell because at one point the pucks/friction-pads had briefly caught on fire. Don't ask.
