Just removed sway-bar

Love it...it should be mandatory

I know i couldn't imagine ever putting mine back on. Its a day and night difference offroading.

 

I have been debating doing this for awhile...Why do you love it?

 

It feels alot better off road, my suspension is still stock but i gained a little more flex out of it, and it feels softer

 

Only reason I am debating doing this is because I commute about 25 miles a day. I am not a crazy or fast driver but I have read on here it will increase your chances of roll overs when making hard turns.

 

I didnt really get to test it much, just got it off like 3 hours ago so we shall see how it works out going to work every day.

 

well just try it on a day off and see. I really didn't notice much of a difference on street except on the freeway when its really windy. I live on a plateau and have to drive 10 miles of mountain road every day to get into town and its not bad at all.

 

THe only smart one in the group.

Imagine if you ever have to make an emergency manuever, quick abrupt turn quickly.... Yeah, it ain't gonna be pretty.

You're FAR better off leaving it connected for daily driving. Why take that risk of killing yourself & someone else on the road? Vehicles have sway bars for a reason.

Do some research on Swaybar disconnects.....

 

I got a 4-banger, if something happends ill be going slow enough that i can just dodge,duck,dip,dive, and dodge.

 

If you want to feel what the difference is without the sway, get going about 15mph and whip the steering wheel left and right a few times real hard, that's how you'll feel the difference in body roll. It will feel the same basically on normal driving turns.

Just remember to drive it like a truck, not a Porsche.

 

I had a dirt bike in the bed on the freeway and had to swerve really hard. The truck leaned like crazy but I was very surprised at how well it handled.

 

I had my sway bars rust through on my last vehicle, and there really is a difference, even just lane changes at freeway speeds. Pretty amazing how little it needs to feel squirrly.

 

I just put mine back on yesterday. Since I spend most of my time on the road. And I dont get the chance to go off-roading as much as I would like to. I do love how the swaybar feels on the road. It handles so much better. But for off-roading with the bar off is the way to go.

 

If you tow a lot or drive a lot of highway miles I would not take the sway bar off. I couldn't imagine towing(as much as I do) without it...
If I was going to be doing some hardcore offroading for a whole day or an offroading camping trip, then I would not be lazy and just take it off for the trip and when I got home I'd reinstall it...it doesn't take that long...

 

i drive 100+ miles a day and dont ever feel unsafe

 

I don't drive 100 miles a day- but I drive plenty...and I have never felt unsafe.

Took it out to a parking lot and did plenty of turning and "at speed" stopping. No issues.

 

I guess cuz I have a 4-cyl/access cab it doesnt get as tippy as I thought it would
