Yeah, I decided not to move the wheel since it rode so good with it where it is. Also didn't want to lessen the tire clearance either or go with 27.5 wheel. Have been likin the 9 with the carbon frame and the black/yellowgreen/teal graphics. Icetechs are tempting but will probably just leave mine SRAM cuz then I'd have to change out drivetrain to Shimano too, lol. Got carbon seat post, Fizik alliente seat coming since factory seat too narrow for me. Also lime or black pedals, xsync11 alloy 32t chainring since mine is cheapy looking steel one and an angular contact wheels mfg bb92 thread together pressfit bb. Are you running tubeless? couldn't believe how heavy the slime tubes were that the chick I bought it from sent with the bike. Geez, adds another 5 lbs to the weight of the bike. Also, I didn't spend the coin on the great hitch racks either. Mine is OK for most of my bikes, just not anything past 2.3 tires pretty much.

Got the lime oury lockons yesterday.................

Is the a late 70s Celica I see in the garage? Cool if so, parents had a brown one with tan interior - 1977 IIRC

    Yeah.
Running tubeless for sure, even the non-slime tubes are over a pound each. My 9 is aluminum with the full unmatched set of components they sold it with, which I kinda think is cool (2017 was the first year of carbon for the Stache, but you can't find them): SRAM X1 drivetrain, Shimano XT brakes, Manitou fork, KS dropper post, DT Swiss hubs, Sun Ringle rims. The rims have those small cutouts, and sacrificing a tiny bit of weight for some bling I put some colored ribbon under the rim strips to show through (after Scotchguarding it). It's holding up nicely.

Good eye, that is a '77 Celica GT Liftback. I am pretty much done restoring it mechanically (practically everything is new except gear box, driveshaft and rear axle), just gotta get to work on the cosmetics. All the crazy emissions stuff is gone (originally about 20 feet of vacuum hoses), running a Weber carb on a Cannon intake, and converted the ignition to electronic with an MSD system. I don't run it often, just keep the battery charged, and the thing starts up on the first crank every time.

Just picked up my 1st cross country rig after quitting competitive cycling 15 years ago. Niner EMD 9 for $900 bucks used. Pretty much brand new. Doesn't even look like it has touched dirt.

Now that's a stealth steamroller tractor! How are you hauling it? Boy, bet those tires cost more than car tires based on my little 3.0s costing $180 a set.

2015 Pivot Phoenix Carbon DH bike..

    Full custom build. Specs;

    Color: black as fuuuuuuuuuuck
    I9 dh wheels
Sram 10 speed dh drive train
    Sram xo dh carbon cranks
    Rockshox boxxer wc fork
    Fox x2 rear shock
    Renthal carbon fatbar
    Thompson 30mm direct mount stem
    Saint brakes
    E13 chain guide
Maxxis minion dhr2 and dhf tubeless tires
    Thompson seat post
    Wtb hightail saddle
    Chromag squarewave xl grips

Bike is dialed, fast and fun as hell. It's been wrapped from day one in 3m protective vinyl so the frame is in great shape, overall 7 out of 10 condition. With pedals bike weighs in at 31lbs, mega light for a race ready dh bike. Asking $4,300 obo... bike would be upwards of 8k+ to build. Just don't ride it enough to justify keeping her. Pic is a little old, and doesn't have the X2 shock. Bike is currently in for a full service including suspension, so it'll be ready to rip!

Back in my day, mountain bikes only came in 24" and 26" versions, and 12 speeds were all the rage.

I'm curious to see how I like or don't like the 29'er I just bought. I like my bikes nimble like a BMX bike so I thought the
29 inch wheel was a fad. But the bike companies have designed the frame specs to accommodate the bigger wheels. Now
they are slowing going towards the 27.5" tire which is meeting in the middle. I only picked up my new Niner cause I got a
crazy good deal on it. In the next few years the frame specs will catch up to the 27.5 inch tire.

I thought they were already there? I bought a new 26" a couple years ago. I'm going to try a 27.5" or 29" next time. I was told when the 29s first came out, people were turning the wheels into tacos around fast corners.

Its hard to find a 26" mtb now unless your at walmart. 27.5 frames and 29 frames have been getting refined for years now. Lately the big thing is 27.5+ and 29+. I have a 27.5+ and that ride is soo sweet in rough terrain, like a 4x4 Cadillac. All my other bikes are 29ers, which I prefer for the cross country riding I do.

I bought my first 29er in 06 or 07 and lived near Vail, CO. I could not find a 29" tube anywhere in the valley. Every bike shop except 1 told me that 29ers were a fad and would never catch on in the mountains. Multiple shops told me that. I just told them that was their opinion and I had no issues riding in the mountains. Man, they couldn't have been more wrong.

looking to get back in to biking but don't really know where I want to start other than a hardtail with disc brakes and a decent fork, looking to keep it around $1k just in case I don't stick with it then it's no big loss finically. Been leaning towards a Scott Aspect 730 but am open to any suggestions, will spend 75% on trails and in the dirt and maybe once a week just as a leisurely neighborhood ride.

Check out craigslist adds or even Pink Bike for sale listings. You can find some really good deals
on bikes that hardly get ridden.
