It could be worse! My car was parked and involved in a hit and run. Got side swiped from the driver side rear door forward to the fender. My tie rod is broken and I cant drive the truck..

So do you have a 2 cams one for the back and one for the front? I doubt a foward facing cam would have been much help in this situation. Also what is your cam setup?

I work for a bus transit as a mechanic and parking is in the bus yard. got backed into by a bus during my shift a week after buying my truck, just got the final letter from my employer that "they can not establish the incident occurred" even though the whole lot is covered with cameras, and every bus has 11 cameras on the exterior... wanting to get a dash cam to CMA in case it ever happens again! need suggestions.

Sorry this happened to you. Hopefully at the very least it's just body work. Also another reason why I park far away too.

Every time I see these cart pushers in the parking lot with a row of 20 carts they're trying to haul back to the building, I pray to god that they don't need to pass my truck.
I doubt they'd really care enough about any vehicles that get hit by accident from the carts to leave a note on the windshield, let alone let their supervisors know.

    First world problems, I guess

    Yawn...

For those that think parking far away will help.

And this happened at work, more than a year ago.

I witness same situation twice. Owner of one vehicle called and thank me for being a witness.

Now I want to get a high clearance rear bumper for this type of incidents.

If you see them write a note....take their Lic.# and then read the note...!! Note the driver's appearance also. write it down at the time..!
That'll F'em if they leave a stupid note like that..!

Im sorry. Mine was hit a several weeks ago on the front, but since i had my bumper guard, not much damage was made...
I guess its a destiny of big cars. When i had Audi A8, same happened, and i started installing dash cam that operates when parked.
What sucks for Tacoma is that they are so big it needs front and back, possibly more to cover it perfectly...

Either they did it on purpose or they have no reason to ever be behind the wheel of a car.
