Hello all, I am currently in the market for a Tacoma, found your forum and love it. I know I'm not supposed to ask question in the intro section...but you guys probably know more than anyone: I want a 4WD manual, I plan on doing some off roading and possibly towing a ski boat later this summer, how much difference is there in the 4 banger and V6 as far as power/mpg?

    Thanks

    Welcome to TW.

What kind of Taco? Double cab, Access cab, reg cab. Buddy of mine has a Reg cab 4X4 he has no probs.

I think if you want more power go with the 6.

Thanks guys, yeah I'm going to look at and probably buy this 96' Tacoma extended cab, 4wd V6 5spd, it has 195k miles on it, and I can get it for $6k. This is for a toy truck, but may end up as my primary drive if I like it enough. Not sure what you guys mean by all those cab variations...it has two doors and bigger cab for storage with the little fold down mini seats.
