Yea but if your best friend asks you to move you should be able to say yes, and the bed is a money making tool DCLBFTMFW

I made sure my best friend has a long bed truck.

I'll just let him use my trailer and since I'm not as young as I once was, I delegate job duties

I bought LB for both the utility and the looks... I don't regret it and I'm very happy with it.

False lol, no way it had a shorter wheelbase or turning radius than a single cab, short bed. The wheelbase on a single cab long bed is about equivalent to an access cab/dcsb Tacoma

I'm in the middle of trying to make this decision right now and I have to say I am torn. I am looking at a 2016 DCLB with 11k miles and a DCSB with 4K miles. Both are TRD Off Road 4x4. SB is tricked out a little but more (tires, wheels, cosmetic mods, leveling kit) and it is manual, which I prefer. LB is better for hauling my dirt bike, camping, and my house flipping and tebocsltons projects (I own a general contracting business but am by no means a contractor--more like a project manager). I'll use the truck to haul materials often on a weekly basis, but I'll also be in school parking lots and in downtown just zipping around more often.

I like the point made by those that noted you can lay the tailgate down and make some more room. I think in the long run, I'll be fine with an SB, but I definitely wonder if I'll regret it in just a few short weeks. Of course, I plan to also install a rack of some sort to be able to put construction materials ontop of the entire vehicle, so......:notsure:

You can get laid in the long bed. Short bed you both would have to midgets.

I'd like to see a head to head between a Stock TRD OR 6 foot box vs 5 foot box offroading. Stock I bet both trucks do the same trail fine.
I should have added both be AT for the test, the 5 foot bed with the manual tranny does sound good.

Not if there are switchbacks. If there is a tight turn I can barely make, the LB will obviously have to three point it. And if I need to do a 3 point turn, my LB buddies will have a hard time and will usually have to climb a rock when they cut over the apex of the turn.

The point is that it's not the same, and I will have an easier and safer time on the same trail.

True. I plan on a hard case RTT in the near future, so that should be moot.

There is one tight uphill and off camber switchback turn on one of trails we do. If your back tire doesn't make the turn you can easily roll it. Also there are a few places I high center. Would be worse for an LB.

Bring it. I'll take you on some trails :D
There are some crazy spots on that trail, like that hairpin I'm talking about, but there are no good photos or video cause you can barely even get out of the truck
But like I said, I have a few friends in DCLBs, and they will make it, just need a few more people to get out and help spot
