My first new vehicle (Longest INTRO thread)

Since 1990 I have always bought used mostly German VWs and Audis of the early to mid 1980s for pennies on the hundred dollar, built them up, drove em hard, and sold off. In 2013 I bought a 1994 Chevy Suburban K2500 6.5 Turbo Diesel for $1000, put 28k miles on it. Last fall I put a military take out rebuilt 6.5 from a supposed reputable company in AL in the burb. I got a bad motor. Ended up taking my first vehicle finical loss when I traded it in to my first ever brand new vehicle with my first ever car payment in February of this year.

Yeah, really couldn't be happier!

Out of a 4Runner and into a Tacoma. Had to go with a Cement TRD Pro. Luckily not too bad on the California mark-ups. Loving it so far! Glad to be here.

Hey dudes, New here. Within the next few months I'll be in search of a clean & stock 2nd gen taco. I've been building up my wife's 5th gen t4r and it's time to have my own truck.

I'm going to build a similar style 2nd gen taco but I'll go bigger on the tires. Currently running 265 KO2's and a bilstein/OME lift on the 4Runner. Plans are for Toytec coilovers, 285's and some SCS wheels to get me started.

 

Love my first tacoma. I went from a '05 dodge dakota to a '16 tacoma sr5 tow package.

Been lurking while shopping, finally bit the bullet on my first Tacoma and my first brand new truck. Nearly 20 years ago I had a lifted '92 22RE and I've been missing it a lot. Picking up my White 2017 Access Cab Sport MT tomorrow and can't wait. Sorry to all of you, but the Turd Sport decals will be leaving on day 1. I've seen a lot of great ideas here, hoping to use a few on her in the next few weeks! Looking to paint the wheels and grille, pull the valance, add vinyl and a way to haul a kayak.

 

Traded in a 2010 Rav4 last weekend for my first Tacoma!

Ended up with the long bed. Just need to see if will fit in the garage before the snow hits.

Great forum here. I frequently reference many threads here before pulling the trigger.

Already put the long bed to work with a run to the city dump yesterday.

 

Just traded in my '02 4Runner for '17 TRD Sport and I couldn't be happier, can't wait to add and mod. Big fan of the forum and have been checking it out before I pulled the trigger.

Have wanted a Tacoma since I started driving and just got my 17 MGM 4x4 TRD Sport yesterday. So far I'm loving it, time to start saving for mods. New to TW but so far seems like a great resource. I've got a bunch of harleys and had some other "fun" cars in the past so forum life isn't new and this seems like a great one. Nice to meet yall.
