Ha. I'd hit them up for that platinum 8 year warranty, though. Good luck. Sorry this happened to your new truck.

I have a 17 OR and not long after I bought it I put on RCI IFS front/trans skids. When I removed the factory skids I noticed my FRONT dif had a little bit of leakage from the drain plug. Toyota quickly took care of it.

Damn, that sucks. I just picked up a TRD OR yesterday, fully loaded. I did get the 8 year warranty. Hopefully none of this happens to mine!

Honestly @CodyH. If that is the worst I encounter, I will be all good.

Hopefully the OP understands the world we live in today. He was obviously thinking about a lift. That nullifies any warranty for anything.

This is my first brand new vehicle ever, and I'm pretty excited. So far, I love it! Reading negative things in a forum isn't a good idea tho lol

Yeah, reading the forum here got me all bummed out after I got home with mine. I'm at 2500 miles with no issues though. Great Truck.

I like reading the negative posts. Helps me to know what to look out for. I'm still planning to buy one despite the posts. Plus mine will probably see 1,000/yr so the stuff probably won't bug me

If you don't like reading excessive negativity, the 3rd gen forum is not the place for you.

Hope you get that fixed OP. Wouldn't be surprised if there was just some gasket that wasn't snug enough. I've had that happen on a couple new motorcycles.

I also not the biggest fan of the 3rd gen Tacomas. I have had most of the problems.

I only say that to make my point...pointier. something obvious like that is more easily identifiable and therefore fixable. I would be pretty upset and it would taint the purchase, but this should be something they can make right.

That said, you're within a return period most likely. If you lost confidence in the truck swap it out now while you can. At the very least press them for an extended warranty.

I’m still confused, where’s the leak from? Diff or engine, front or back?

It didn't occur to me until I was done with the first page, but did the inspiration of this incident help create your username? Would be pretty cool if it did.

Says who? Havent had an issue with that at my dealer. The General Manager always comes out to talk to me about mine when I take it in.

Had a vibration when slowing down from 40MPH, They went above and beyond troubleshooting the issue. Narrowed it down to the tires by getting a new truck off the lot and swapping wheels and tires onto mine and going for a drive. The GM told me then, that the love seeing these trucks built. I'll always use Toyota of Easley for my work now.

Some dealers are pricks and stick to the "book," just gotta find one who has great customer service.
