We received a complete rotor back from a customer last week that we sent out like a month ago.
It's tore down now and in rotor stack.

Apparently the info that we are getting is that it ran for 80 hrs..........with no oil.
The journal's on 4 critical surfaces are greater than what's allowed. This unit is scrap.

 

Wasn't warrantied was it?!

 

I'm not sure how it was handled. We don't send them with oil. They provide oil on site when they hook them up.

I know your pain. We had to open up a vessel with resin in it for demineralizing water. Resin can only be out of the water for up to an hour. They fuckin put new resin in before pulling the blinds on the vessel, so my only choice was to drain the vessel, let the resin sit in open air for about half a day and then fill it back up when the numbskulls finished the blinds (took their sweet ass time even after I stressed they'd just have to do it again if the resin was ruined). My bosses boss micromanaged it all and said "it'll be fine". Ok lady, we'll see in 6 months when we're replacing the resin again because its lost its charge.

 

Is the resin used for controlling oxidation?

 

No its for demineralizing the water. It attracts ions and all that jazz.

On my last day at my old job, they tried holding me over for the next shift when I had the final walk through for my wedding that morning. yeah, ok...

 

All these references to car racing, never really took an interest. Finally found a version I can get behind.

 

That rev limiter hurts the ears... lime rock is a good time though.
