Been pretty busy the last few weeks. Been taking a huge stab at my debt and got my 1950 Chevy back and its been destroyed. It's now going to cost me close to $50k-$100k to restore it the right way now after what this guy did to it. And yes that is an accurate number from three shops I have taken it too. They all said the same thing.

 

Ouch.

that's a rather broad estimate. is that based on what you want to do to it and how far you want to go, or is that what the shop said..."yeah, you know. we're looking at $50k to $100k"/

 

It's based on what I do to it. I found a rolling chassis with motor and tranny. I would just have to put my body on it and it's $20k for that alone. Not to mention my bed is destroyed, and the front clip is pretty much bent, cut and jacked up. I looked at all the body pieces I need and that'll cost $10k from LMC. So I am at $30k before the shop has to do the body work to the cab and assemble then paint. If I want to go crazy on it it would cost me closer to $100k with a better frame and bigger motor and tranny.

 

I might as well buy a finished truck for $35k if I was going to sink that much money into it. Which really pisses me off.

Yea I wish I had the money to spend on one but for now it's just going to sit in my garage until I figure something out or win the lottery.
