I don't tailgate but I would be interested in how this thing does with a crock pot full of queso during a hurricane. Because I want to be prepared but also like to party.

Have to do some math and add up what you want to put on a genny. Be sure to be aware, if you are not already, that most electrical items have a much higher startup W need, than W needed to just keep them running.

The current one we use is old as F, and I cant remember the wattage its capable of, but it powers a flat screen led TV, crock pot, and an ext cord with phones charging.

Good option if you don't mind stuff going out when you need it most :notsure:

Mid hurricane , powers out in town, roads are flooded and a tree fell on your car...aaanndd the generator stops working.

You're gonna think "fuckng piece of shit I should've got the honda"

You're not gonna think "this is fine. I'll return it in 3 days when this is all over with for a new one"

Why wouldn't somebody go with the Honda? Hondas are bulletproof.

    $$$$

Depends on your primary use. If it's for backyard or tailgating activities, might not be a big deal if it were to puke up, then you have to replace it later vs. disaster situation where if it pukes, you are in much more of a crunch. If it's for the first, $$$ may be more important, if it's for the second, reliability may be more important and the bigger $$$ are worth it. Personal decision point...

True but the cheapest stuff usually turns into being the most expensive

My dads a cheapass and always spends the least up front but always pays the most in the end by having to buy a tool two or three times more than me. Or the tool breaks when all stores are closed so work stops until the next morning.

Growing up working with cheap shit all my life has made me realize what shortcuts are worth taking lol. A generator, I wouldn't shortcut on. Just my .02.

I don't disagree with you, but there are times when you also just can't fork over for the best. Personally, I couldn't wrench my wallet open enough for one of the little Hondas. I compromised and bought a used commercial Honda, much larger physically, and only slightly more W, but less than 1/2 the price. It got me through Ike, and starts on the first pull every year when I drain the gas and oil and refresh it. So far, so good.

I got a Briggs and Stratton storm responder I scored on Craigslist in non running condition. Took apart the carb and drained the fuel tank. Cleaned it, put it back together and it started first pull. Deal of the century.

Ice just used it to power up my fishing lights. Thier 1000watts bulbs.

Honda does make this thing that if you had two generators you can link them together. So two 2k generators would out out 4k .
