Agree. never actually got into Sigs until recently. Then I found out about the 2022 and was sold. Will be my first Sig and probably not my last. Feels incredible compared to my Glocks and S&W shield.

The joint just wore out. It is intended to isolate the steering from what is happening at the tires. When it wears, the resulting looseness allows the inner shaft to make contact with the lower yoke during impacts at the wheels. To check, pull the black plastic cover at your feet then give the shaft a shake. If doing that makes the noise you are hearing, you found the problem.
Yes, I just told this man to shake his shaft. There, I said it.

Haven't tried the 2022 but really like the P226 (with short reset trigger) in 9mm.

im still waiting to snag a 226 sometime.

My only complaint with the 2022 is ZERO aftermarket support.

Aftermarket support wasn't really on my list so I can't speak to that - I wanted something that would work and that I could shoot consistently accurate. I changed the trigger reset and the grips (Hogue G-10 Piranhas) and really like the feel of mine now (it's essentially a P226 scorpion w/o the beavertail or the desert brown color).

100 percent agree with this. I was looking at some goodies to add to mine when I get it and was disappointed with aftermarket support. Oh well. You rockin' a CCW permit yet? You got the 2022 on your list to carry?

I always tell myself "yeah you need this gun forsure. This will be the last gun I will ever have to buy." Shoot... a couple months later I somehow always find myself in a gun shop signing paperwork and drooling over a new purchase. Lol

(Un)fortunately in CA we're limited in what we can buy with the approved handgun roster and the microstamping tech required that prevents almost all new models from making the roster so we can't get the Gen4 Glocks or the Sig Legion series....

You win that Poweball jackpot last night or something? lol I agree, very nice, but honestly way out of price range for me for a rifle that I probably wouldn't do much with but shoot at the range and admire every time I opened my safe. Lol. I know the Ruger Mini-14's are pretty nifty and have some of the same quirks as a SOCOM without the price tag.

There are some loopholes and such to that, but yeah, for the most part, it's becoming more and more limited.. which is too bad.

Also, like @LTDSC said, we always have the NorCal gun BS thread we can switch to. I know some folks here don't like the gun talk.

Sometimes I think it's nice to see other topics discussed in this thread besides cutting fenders and sucking dicks. :notsure:
