I'm shocked...who would have guessed with 200k+ 3rd Gens on the road there would be pics of any being towed.

To be fair those trucks have been on the road for many years and exposed to the elements, it's not like they broke in half after 1 or 2 years.

Perhaps but are there any other trucks broken in half as prevalent as the 1st or 2nd gens?

You hear of nissans, rangers, Mitsubishi or even Chevy with frame failure?

My 04 was on the back of a tow truck at 65k miles, bad starter when we were on a road trip. That's brand new in Toyota standards of reliability.

Any generation can have new truck's fail....

The thing is Ford or American aftermarket support of Ford created frame replacement pieces and I think some of the frame issues got swept under the rug because you could spend $100 in parts and $200 in labor and have your truck all welded up and ready to go again.

So you're saying it was a conspiracy to make Toyota look the worst.

You should give Toyota hell OP. These trucks are designed to go at least 100 miles before leaking oil.

I actually think Toyota got a lot of credit for perceived customer service when they replaced the frames entirely instead of welding new parts in place.

All my buddies with American brand trucks shit talk my 3rd gen and just hate Japanese vehicles in general.
All I hear from them is how overrated, overpriced, and overhyped every Toyota vehicle is and often have just as many issues as an American made vehicles that cost less.
I don't care what they think though. I'm still enjoying my taco.:kona:

The amount of 3rd gen bashing here from 2nd gen people is laughable and sad. Cool guys.... you own a mid 2000's cheap truck. We all own entry level trucks and are all probably mediocre in bed, shorter than our Tinder profile, and 10lbs heavy than our license says, we are on a freaking Tacoma forum, how about support each other and make it a cool place. 1) am horrendous in bed thus I seek out BBW

    2) 3 inches shorter than my tinder profile

    3) 56 lbs heavier than license

    4) typical Asian 4inch penis

Thus I bought the Pro, it helps me compensate :D
