Hey guys I was 4x4ing my new 2017 off road taco the other day and had forgot to disengage the 4x4 mode to 2x4. while driving home and Into my driveway , i completely turned the wheel to the right and my truck started to act weird. The car basically felt like it died and came to a complete stop and began to almost shake.. now I realized anytime while engaged in 4x4 mode and turning the wheel all the way to one side, the car almost forces itself to come to a complete stop and almost feels like the wheels/axle (not sure) begins to slip and the truck doesn't want to go.. I have to take it out of 4 wheel drive and back to 2 wheel to make the complete turn and still be able to accelerate.. not sure if this is normal; that your not suppose to let's say make a u turn type of maneuver while engaged in 4 wheel drive and trying to accelerate out of the u turn .. or is this not normal and I should take it to be looked at.. I don't have any check engine lights or it's not acting differently afterwards.. only happens when engaged in 4wheel drive and trying to make a complete turn left or right with the steering wheel completely turned, the car doesn't want to accelerate out of the turn .. thanks for any help

Tight turns while in 4wd on pavement is a no no. That's your driveline binding up.

this is what i was getting at, I think the pavement doesnt allow enough slippage of the inner tire

Not your inner tire. You have diffs.
When turning your front tires have to make a bigger circle and turn more than your rear tires. Tacomas are not AWD. They do not have a center diff. Read your manual OP.

You get the idea tho, And that would be true if his rear diff was locked.

I've done it before, went wheeling, hit the pavement and forgot to switch back to 2wd. As soon as the steering gets heavy then I realize it's still in 4x4, and switch back.
Don't worry about it. Unless you heard a big bang, nothing broke. Just don't do it too often

You only operate this part time 4wd on a surface where your tires can slip (gravel, dirt, mud, ice, etc).

If you keep testing it on pavement you are going to learn what the inside of a transfer case looks like as it too will be all over your driveway.
