That being said, when living in VA beach there were hoodlums and people getting shot a lot. Not that it makes them easy to point out for say, but the populace up here doesn't seem to be thriving with the same statistics. At the same time, the Portsmouth NN area you could generally fly around town as they were too busy with armed suspect cases/break ins.

I got pulled going 81 in a speed trap from 65 to 45. I unleashed the beast, and they pulled me from the other side of the highway. the master trooper was very calm after I told him I wasn't running from him, id been driving for 6 hours, the wife said she had to pee right AFTER we passed someplace she could go. Gave me a verbal. Let me go, after he checked my bumper height. Nicest old school cop I've ever met who was still on the job. Even threatened to call my old 1SG, and make me low crawl back to Ft Lewis.

I don't like cities, so I stay as far the hell away from them as I can.So I can honestly say I haven't been to VA beach in 15 years, and I'm 27.

Dude, it was VA beach where I learned that cops can fabricate crap beyond the truth at times. I have a few cops in particular that were habitually harassing me and some neighbors until I made an official report. I learned about that process too down there.

Sometimes they will articulate their positions to the point that it cannot be repudiated without actual contrary evidence, yes.

That's part of their job, the articulation. The difference between yelling at someone and projecting your voice, is the description.

I cant speak about your situation, and I hope it worked out. But, as in all jobs, there are assholes everywhere.

Yea I got a cop trying to argue I was wreckless when he said that I had blown through 3 stop signs, didn't use a signal, etc. when really he didn't like that my truck was lifted and tried to make things stick as a probably cause. All that ended up in one "improper driving" charge after my contestation of the events.

Later on after that he tried to argue my roommates exhaust was not legal, yet he couldn't verify the decibal legalities. Little did he know that me and my roommates were engineers and that my roommate actually specialized in sound reduction for his job at the shipyard. That fucker had no idea what he was talking about and got rather salty when he unknowingly embarrassed himself.

Holy shit might of been the same guy...I had 7 infractions which all were dropped except that one. Oh yea, I almost got arrested that day too for so called being "smart" when I simply stated what I was doing with no lip or hostile negotiation which I am known to do depending on the situation.

Yea man, obviously it worked out as the cop got the message and either stopped coming or got reassigned. At the same time, like you said, when that happens (which isn't often) you will also learn of the good cops as in this case they seemed rather apologetic about the situation and confirmed that the cop in question was just a "dick" and for me to not take it personal.

Also, the guy was always professional, but trying to argue problems and citations existed with people that he had no grounds for. Surprising that his department tolerated that shit to be honest in this day and age. At the same time, many people around there are afraid of cops as they might have something to lose or hide.

Whenever I'm pulled over, I try to not think about the only requirement to become a cop is a clean record and being over 21 and the desire to make $40k a year.

I'll let them do whatever they want up front... and then I'll put my defense together if I feel wronged and go to court and let a judge w/ a law degree and years of schooling decide my fate.

(9 out of the 10 tickets I got ended up getting dropped)

I know right! He even said "Nice car!" when he walked up to it (it was a 500 whp Neon SRT-4, so it really wasnt that nice of a car. lol)

and then gave me all those tickets.

yea I've been there done that and almost landed my ass in jail.... I decided it wasnt worth it to argue w/ a cop.... especially when I'm little and have pretty eyes.... I would SOOOO get raped in jail.

Dude whats funny is with that guy, I wasn't even arguing. He threw cuffs on, put me in the back of his cruiser. After 5 min he asked how do I feel...I told him Im still tired from moving and pulling an all nighter on a thermo final that was due that day. He then asked for me to explain myself again...which I did in the same tone and fashion which seemed to suffice? I really think he wanted me to feel his intimidation. I have never argued to the point that things become personal as I keep my debates to strictly informative questioning. Belittling a cop in any fashion never leads down a good road.

I hear ya on that...the last few citations I have gotten in the DMV area since 2010 have all been dropped as well. Looks like we operate similarly.

I understand that getting busted or an infraction is never advantageous, but I don't do crazy shit on the road. If the cop wants to get ridiculous and I feel it is them trying to articulate themselves to the point that it construes the point...then yea man I will point that out in a professional, but curious demeanor. Im not a fresh 16 year old kid, so I expect to have probable reasons for things.

Haha the way that dude was going with his irate attitude, probably would of landed me in jail for the morning. Not gonna lie, if he booked me man I would of loved to have battled that in court.
