So I special-ordered (no refunds, no returns, $180.73) and received a 45220-04020 Shaft Assy, Steering Intermediate and a couple of bolts. After ordering, I temp-fixed the existing one with zip ties.
Here's the problem. The zip-tie fix is so good, I really don't want to swap in the new part now. Steering on the truck has never felt better.
The question: Should I just leave it alone and enjoy driving the truck as it is? Or fix it properly using the replacement part I've already paid for?

I'd roll with what you have for now then replace it when it starts acting up with the fix you already have.

Weird. They "aligned" mine last Thursday with 35's. 0° caster. At least it was on my 3 year plan and I didn't have to pay again. I'm going to try again on a Saturday when I can talk to the tech instead of dropping it off before work and picking it up after.

They also said that I can't get it aligned every time after I "Mess it up off-roading". I told them that that's how the plan was sold to me. "Come back anytime you tweak it off-roading and we'll get it back in spec..."

Then I fucking laid into the guy because last time I was there, they didn't tighten the LCA bolt/ nut properly. I was in the turns west of the Caldecott tunnel, on the way to Shaffers for the regear, and the steering was all over the place. Got to Shaffers and saw one of the rear eccentrics dangling and the LCA nut about to fall off. Maybe 2 or 3 turns left.
They backed off and agreed to do the alignment for free.

Then they locked my truck inside instead of putting the keys in my console vault and leaving it outside, like I instructed them to do on the phone at 3pm that day. Couldn't pack the night before, and wasn't sure if my truck was stolen. The next morning, they said that they couldn't do that for liability reasons, even though they had done it at least 10 times before that and agreed to lock it outside. Bitched them out properly again since I was supposed to leave for work at 6am so I could leave the office early for a trip.

    TL;DR: Fuck Big O Benicia.

I used to be a supporter, but the good guys don't work there anymore.
