Two more dingers from the best player in the game and an Angel win. Yesterday's game still stings a little, but the team is playing good baseball right now.

It'll be a good race. Looks like Texas is jumping back in it.

No good punches thrown, from what I could see in the video. Though heard much talk on Sports Radio about Gary Sanchez cheap shotting guys who were pinned on the bottom of the pile.

 

I agree. It certainly wasn't a NHL brawl.
Sanchezs' cheap shots will follow him.

 

I say one bean ball per cheap shot but then you just end up getting other people suspended and fined. There are no justifiable bean balls anymore. Went the same way of breaking up the double play and taking out the catcher at the plate.

Teams are gearing up for the playoffs!

 

The Dodgers are acting like it's October already, 1-9 in their last 10.

 

I've had some friends bugging me about writing off my Royals. They are after all still in the hunt. Hey, they are winning series and still in the hunt but . . . the Minnesota series we took 2 of 3 but got beat 17-0 the game we lost. We are beating Detroit at the moment 2 of 3 [which everyone should be now] but again, we lost game 2, 13-2. And, Cleveland, has swept us twice in a month. Contenders don't do that in Sept.

Bottom line: We still have the exact same holes we had back in April. Half our starters are still a question mark. We have decent enough short and long relief pitching but the setup and close are still a huge question mark. Alex Gordon and our DH are still hitting .200.

It is purely that wonderful core team of winners Dayton Moore put together that got us there in 14 and 15 that has us still still winning at all in Sept and still in the wildcard picture. As I said over a month ago, I still think, if we don't beat ourselves, it will be the A's that get in our way for that 2nd spot.

Cleveland won it's 14th straight game, yesterday.
Arizona won it's 13th straight game. Wow.

 

And you can actually peak a little too early. But, yeah, didn't I read like that has never happened or something? 2 teams at once in Sept?

Dodgers are going the wrong way but with all of that talent I cannot believe they are going to completely choke [again].

Though I'll be rooting for my Royals until the bitter end [they blew a win against the Twins tonight in the 9th they could NOT afford] but honestly Cleveland-Houston and Dodgers-Diamondbacks would be matchups I would watch if the brackets even work out that way? Oh, I'll watch whatever happens but those teams certainly deserve to be there. Not that others don't too . . .

 

against the Twinkies? That bad not as bad as getting Swept by the Reds which happened to the Pirates recently but yea.

Have you seen what the Twins have done in the 2nd half? They are actually pretty good. Best record in baseball in August. Though we should have taken 3 of 4, our setup/close problems cost us game one so we just managed a 2-2 split. Thanks to all the other dysfunction in the wildcard race, we are still just 2 1/2 back with 20 to go. Still don't think we'll get in but betting if we don't it will be the Twins or As that do.
