What's the chatter on the 2018's?

Dont have actual color numbers but from popularity on ordering we have the following

White
Magnetic
Silver
Black
-All others

Quicksand sells as well as blue and red. Cement is going to sell about the same as those 3 and Inferno is at the bottom.

Need to remember that not everyone that buys a Tacoma is on here. Just your average joe 90% of the time is not buying some wild color, they stick with gray silver and black. They view white as a work truck but white sells more because companies use them a lot.

 

You guys had my curiosity up so I took a quick look at the new Tacoma inventory at my local small dealership:
Blue - 1
MGM - 2
Black - 2
Silver- 2
Red - 2

 

Mine

White - 3
Black -3
Silver -3
Red -1

 

Black - 35
Gray - 17
White - 15
Red - 12
Silver - 4
Quicksand - 4
Inferno - 4
Blue - 2


Local inventory numbers are hard to tell what sells just FYI. It could be the trucks have been sitting for a while or they sell hot so the dealer keeps more stocked of a certain color or they cant keep enough of the color on the lot because they are hot so they wont have that many on their lot.

My luck and Toyota will do something stupid like not offering a M6 DCSB in Cement, making it auto only for that color.

Kinda like not offering us the M6 AC Off Road, only M6 in the AC Sport in the USA.

 

Hope they don't do something stupid like that too, they already won't let you get JBL on a Manual so it would not shock me if they would not allow Cement.

 

Here in central Ohio, every other Tacoma I see is qs. Inferno and black would be the next popular.

 

White, Silver, and MGM down here in Southern Ohio.

I haven't a clue what it is but somewhere someone made the decision... Hmmm

 

My personal theory is that they really are wanting to phase out Manuals so the keep making it where you have to buy things you don't want or make things you do want unavailable. I didn't really want a Double Cab OR, but that was the only way to get a manual.

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure Cement is non-metallic. It's what makes it unique. If it was metallic it would just be another silver.

 

It's definitely pearl. I can see it in my paint when the sun hits it.

The ones I've seen just looked solid gray.

 

It almost looks like flat gray from a distance but when you get really close to it you can see just a faint pearl in it.

Definitely an interesting color and seems to hide dust pretty well. Better than I thought it might.
