Thought of an idea for a thread. I don't know if one exists on TW already but if it does I haven't seen it.
OK, here goes. If you're like many of us you traded in something for your current rig. Car, Truck, Bike or maybe even another Tacoma. Or maybe you sold something. So lets see what what you traded in or sold...and what you traded for or bought...And If no pics of your old ride then give us a description. We'll understand. Also give us you thoughts on your decision to trade. If your in the mood

Traded in a 2014 Focus ST for the Taco. Had it for 11 months. Fun car, missed having a truck, I had a '12 Tundra CrewMax prior to the FoST.

If I could do 2015 over, I would've kept the Focus, sold my Miata and bought a 1st gen Tundra.

2010 Toyota Matrix. Terrible car, not sure why I bought it in the first place. It replaced a 16 year old Toyota Pickup (1994 - pre Tacoma). I guess at the time I wanted to try something different. The ONLY thing better about that car than my current Tacoma is MPG. That's it. Other than that I moved up in every way possible

This isn't mine, but it looked like this....

No pics right now, but traded in a 2015 bmw 2 series and a 2014 bmw x5 diesel, for my taco and the wife's sequoia. Both were paid off, so it was more about getting a nice chunk of coin back. I really miss the diesel, that was a nice ride! The 2 series was also really fun to drive, just not ideal with 3 kids.

So far we are pretty happy with the decision, and the cash.

Oh, I quite like the Tacoma. I have a 2015 DCSB TRD Sport. Cost wise, it would've been cheaper to keep the cheap Focus ST and buy a used truck. I bought a 2002 Tundra new, but sold it a couple of years later when I get laid off. I really liked that truck, too.

I like to have a truck and a car at all times. I threw off my balance when I traded my '12 Tundra for the Focus. I had a Miata and a Focus at the same time, and no truck! In 2015, I sold both, and bought the Tacoma and a '67 Cougar. I like the Cougar, but my wants for it exceed my budget. Ha. I could've kept the Focus as the "fun" car, and simply replaced the Miata with a truck, and I would've maintained by car/truck balance!

I traded in a 2011 BMW Z4. Only reason I did this was for a new job - I no longer have that job (left for better, plus I got injured on job). Now I don't necessarily regret the decision, but i DO miss that car. My real regret was trading in my 2014 Camaro SS 1LE for that BMW Z4, all because I wanted a lower payment so I could prove to the wife I needed a boat. Damnit if I didn't sell that boat...oh well, such is life!
EDIT: I bought a 2017 Inferno TRDOR Access Cab 4x4

I traded in some money. Look at my sig line, does it look like I make a habit of trading anything in? lol  1 4x4 good, many 4x4's better. I guess you can say I let my daughter drive my Z71 in order to move into a new taco. It was either that or buy her a used "something" to drive. I know the history of the Z71, so I'm more comfortable with that vs. someones used stuff. The next swap will likely be letting my youngest daughter take over the H3 and getting my wife a new 4WD 4runner. Before all these I owned several solid axle GM 4x4's. 77 PU, an 84 K5 etc. I've only owned 1 vehicle that wasn't 4WD, a 94 geo metro we used when my wife an I were carpooling a long commute together for a while.

I'd rather not think of all the $ spent :(
I didn't trade but this is what I sold

Only miss it during heavy snow! But the money I save on fuel, pays the new plow man.
