Looks like Gorman is going to have a high of 95 tommorrow. Is that a good indicator of what it will be like in HV?

The highs are around 3-5 pm. I plan on being inside a running truck lol. Night time cools into the high 70s of your sleeping there.

@Bergster36 if you have not already, you guys should try "The Slot" as well!!! Definitely 2wd capable, but there are some challenging spots on the trail that require "good line placement". When I went through it, no sliders required other than stock high clearance is, or at least, recommended. Other than that both the times I went through, the sand was SUPER SOFT as you are going down the hill. From top to bottom, I would say approx 100yds and as you're going down, your truck's flex will definitely come into play as there are "steps/pits" towards the top/beginning!!! The only tip "I" can give is to keep your wheels straight as much as possible. IF/WHEN you guys go down, you will see what I mean.

But yeah, you should go check it out if you already have not, PLUS, very good video/photo op as people are going down it for sure!!!:fistbump::cheers::mudding::oldglory:

to @Thesandaddict Harley just in case you miss the edit

    EDIT:
Btw, braking can be a bit tricky because it is, more or less, a "controlled slip" as you are going down the hill. For me, it was hard to gauge when to release the brake as I was going down because your rear tires sorta feel like they're slipping even though you are applying the brakes. It can be a "pucker factor moment" at times!!!:goingcrazy: LOL!!!:laugh::rofl:

"The Slot" is in Ocotillo Wells just north of the 78fwy and, if I remember correctly, you will pass by the Ranger Station.

In the picture, that is "The Squeeze", which is south of the 78fwy and eventually leads to "Pinyon Drop Off" (a.k.a. Heart Attack Hill) and THAT is NO JOKE if you are inexperienced. There are plenty of Youtube vids and here is one of them:

NOTE: notice the dumba$$ "THINKING he knows how to 'guide' her..." WTH he tells her to do that is BEYOND me???!!!:eek::goingcrazy::facepalm: But, I will admit that it almost looks as if she "over corrects" as well??? The point is, anyone doing that should be more experienced in my humble opinion???!!! :notsure: I definitely wouldn't do it because I don't feel I'm experienced enough to attempt something like that until I have something more "under my belt"!!! I know my personal limits.

To "me", at least, it looks as if she WAS going the correct direction and then for some reason he tells her to go/turn right???:notsure: Also, his "hand signals" are confusing AF???!!! :crazy:o_O:eek::goingcrazy::facepalm:

    EDIT:
Anyways, in my humble opinion, one should be a bit more experienced... talking about the driver. BUT, with that said, don't have a moron "guide you" as well!!!
